Dear Friends,

So what's the plan...

I want to share with you what we are planning for the Fall.  Our move to the Canterbury campus has been a blessing in so many ways. The worship space is remarkable and we have "moved in" to the St. Augustine Chapel and made it a dynamic space for our Sunday's liturgies and more. The other resources we have at Canterbury in terms of gathering space enriches our lives as well.  There are challenges to being on this property as well (I'll get to those in a minute)  We have an opportunity for growth, to increase our influence in the community and to see the expansion of the Kingdom of God in us and through us into the hearts and lives of men, women and children in Oviedo and beyond.   Come August we are planning for a "premiere" of Church of the Incarnation on the Canterbury Campus" to the community.   This will be a strategic sequence of events - not unlike our initial launch. just over three years ago.  This premiere will involve the following:

Sunday, August 22 / Ministry Fair and Celebration.  This event will focus on making known all of the offerings and opportunities we have at Incarnation.  Booths and exhibits that will detail Christian Formation; Outreach; Worship; Building Plans; Hospitality; Stewardship; Discipleship; Special events and more will be set-up along with some fun things / games and carnival type activities for kids and families. Add to this some great food and it will be a time for people to get to know us and our mission as a church in this community.

Sunday, August 29 - Ministry Fair continues with Jennifer Lamountain as our special guest - I have gotten to know Jennifer over the past several months and she is a gifted singer and performer with an outstanding ministry of music.  Check her web-site out... Click Here   Her music is available on iTunes and she has a few videos out on You Tube (this is her singing one of Steve Fry's Songs - one we do) well.  Jennifer is a real talent and will bless us and our guests with her gift of music. Jennifer will be with us in the morning and in the evening for a concert.

Sunday, September 12 / Our 4th Anniversary as a Mission.  (Has it been 4 years!)  We welcome Dr. Steve Harper as our special guest preacher and we will recall our past journey together as a congregation with a media piece telling the Incarnation story.

In September we will launch a few new initiatives; Discipleship opportunities; some special events; and other "on ramps" to bring people into the fold.  All of this is very exciting and will require a lot of work and effort. A few things are necessary between now and the "premiere" (some of those challenges I referred to earlier)

A Sign...  We need to have a sign highlighting Incarnation on the Canterbury Campus.  We are looking at a digital sign that would allow us to advertise special events and programs for both Incarnation and Canterbury.  We need to make known in a visible and inviting way that Incarnation is at Canterbury.  

The Road...  We need to improve the road to the chapel and make it more accessible for folks.

Parking...  We need to designate parking places around the chapel and specifically add Handicap parking.

There are probably a few hundred other details but these are major projects and I ask your prayers for them as we move forward.  When we moved to Canterbury we set up the "Canterbury Fund" to help with the added expenses we had in making this move.  Please consider a special gift to this fund to help us in these efforts.

So that is the plan - and in the weeks ahead the vision will get clearer and more defined.  If you want to help just let me know there is plenty to do and we engage in this effort for the sake of people who have wandered from their faith or who have never known the Lord, hoping and praying that Jesus would use us to reach them.

Next Vestry meeting has been rescheduled to Sunday afternoon June 27th... Please pray for the vestry and leadership as we will be discussing and moving toward a decision regarding the addition of a second service come the fall and the impact this will have on Christian Formation.
