Dear Friends,
We had a glorious workday - trash hauled off, mulch made, flowers planted and thanks to an Eagle Scout project work has begun on a patio by the chapel. At Canterbury we are also having the roofs repaired and new roofing installed. A perimeter fence around the property is going up as well. Still much more to do but great progress was made. Thanks for all your help and trust me there will more opportunity in the days ahead.
With all this work commencing it makes me think of how we need to tend our lives with regular maintenance. What is it we are to do to be productive and fruit bearing for the Kingdom of God. It is quite simple really. We are to pray, serve, worship, study and work. In these simple tasks our spiritual lives are nourished and we bind ourselves to Christ Jesus more and more. These acts of piety clear away the underbrush, pulls the weeds and feed us with the necessary things required for us to grow enabling His will and mission to be accomplished in us and through us. So if this is "Spring Cleaning" season - don't forget to prepare your life for the growing season ahead. (a great way to get started is by coming to the teaching mission this Friday and Saturday - see below)
