COLLECT FOR
THE WEEK
Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

To know Him...
icon Jesus

Dear Friends,

Sometimes when preparing the update I will get inspired by something.  Other times someone will share something with me that I know I should distribute to this list.  Other times however (and this is one of them) I am taken with a simple notion - something so obvious yet so profound.

We are to know Jesus.  To be in a relationship with him, growing in our faith and understanding, being shaped and molded into a person of His possession.   That's it - spend your time, your energy, your money, your resources on knowing Jesus and you will do well in all things.

"that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.  Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus"     (Philippians 3:10-14)

Palm Sunday - As we prepare for Holy Week here are a few details...   This Sunday - Palm Sunday our service will begin with a procession from the main campus to the St. Augustine Chapel.  (if you have mobility issues please join us in procession at the front of the chapel)  The Very Rev. G. Richard Lobs III will be our special guest preacher.  (here is a link to Rick's BLOG CLICK HERE)

Easter Flowers...   If you would like to make a donation toward Easter Flowers in memory of someone or in Thanksgiving please sign-up on Sunday or email Shelly.  The cost is $10.00.  Memorials and Thanksgiving requests must be in by Sunday March 28th (we need to do our bulletins on Monday March 29th)  You can drop your contribution in the offering - please mark it "Easter Flowers".

We need some assistance with the Children's and Families' Stations of the Cross service on Good Friday at 4pm - getting organized and some folks to play the "parts" -  if you would like to be a part please contact Lisa Hines

In the mission,

Fr. Jon+
