Dear Friends,
This past week we were given a gift. A volunteer outside of Incarnation who wishes to remain anonymous painted the interior of the St. Augustine Chapel. He did a fantastic job. He was quick, clean and neat, and professional in his skills. Take a look...
This friend responded to an email update a month or so ago where I asked for volunteers to help with a variety of projects. There is still much to do on the Canterbury campus and little by little we will make the necessary improvements, cleaning, remodeling and more. This will bless Incarnation, Canterbury Retreat and the many guests who use the facility. It is our witness to others of stewardship, care and kindness. Looking for something to do? Then give me a call. :-)
The 4th week of Lent...
As we approach Holy Week, I am contemplating more and more the nature and depth of our redemption. I ran across this quote from Pastor C.J. Mahaney
"Never be content with your grasp of the
gospel. The gospel is life-permeating, world-altering, universe-changing
truth. It has more facets than any diamond. Its depths man will never
exhaust."
I know I will never fully grasp the Gospel this side of glory but I am convinced this pursuit is worthy of all I am and all I have. As followers of Jesus we should endeavor to know Him in all his glorious saving and redeeming love. There are a couple weeks until we celebrate our redemption afresh, when we will walk through the passion of our Lord, to his death and sacrifice until we reach resurrection. Ponder with me this great and "amazing grace that saved a wretch like me" - a love that celebrates the return of "prodigals" with a party.
In the mission,
Fr. Jon+
