Father in heaven, who at the baptism of Jesus in
the River Jordan proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed him with
the Holy Spirit: Grant that all who are baptized into his Name may keep
the covenant they have made, and boldly confess him as Lord and Savior;
who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory
everlasting. Amen. *************************

Our Partner in Ministry: Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center

Canterbury Retreat and Conference Centerhas become a significant partner to Church of the Incarnation and vice-versa. We are sharing space but more so a vision to see people come to know and love Jesus and to advance the Kingdom of God.
Canterbury has been struggling financially the last few years and the time is still critical. We are developing a different business model focusing on ministry to churches in Diocese of Central Florida first and then reaching out to other churches, groups, para-church ministries who might want to hold their event, gathering, conference at Canterbury.
In addition to getting operations healthy we have launched a capital campaign to raise money to improve our infrastructure (roofs, room renovations, landscape and more) We are seeking to increase Canterbury's sense of sanctuary. The Sanctuary Campaign will run through 2010 with a goal of raising the necessary funds to refurbish the buildings and grounds at Canterbury. Sanctuary is the amenity we offer to the world, a place where people can encounter Almighty God in worship, reflection, silence and retreat.
As we move forward in mission and ministry together and as we live into this partnership I invite you to get involved. First, pray. There is a Prayer for Canterbury below to assist you, but offer your intercessions for both Canterbury and Incarnation, for the staff and leadership, for favor and prosperity. Second, give. Consider a contribution to the Sanctuary Campaign, every gift counts and your generosity will be greatly appreciated. Third, serve. There are many projects, and opportunities to roll up your sleeves and contribute your gifts, talents and more to the mission. For more on any of these initiatives please contact me.
I see a bright future for both Incarnation and Canterbury where we will fulfill God's calling on us. At Incarnation we have thought of ourselves as an outpost of the Kingdom of God since we began and this is the place where our roots are going down and where we will secure a future for this precious work of God. Thank you Jesus for Canterbury and for Incarnation!
in the mission, JD+ The Rev. Jon Davis Vicar - Church of the Incarnation Executive Director - Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center
A Prayer for Canterbury...
Almighty God, bless
Canterbury Retreat & Conference Center; make it a lively center for sound
learning & in the course of this busy life, a place of spiritual renewal,
refreshment & peace. Give wisdom to the Board & Staff; to make wise
decisions, to be good stewards of all resources. Lead us we pray to strength
& stability. Inspire us by your Holy Spirit with a vision for greater
mission & effectiveness for the expansion of your Kingdom in this diocese
& beyond; that people would come to know you as Lord & Savior; grow in
their knowledge of you by the work done here. We ask this in the name of Jesus
Christ who modeled for us the need for retreat to be strengthened &
renewed. Amen.
ONE OTHER THING... In addition to daily Morning Prayer at 7:45am we have begun a mid-week Eucharist on Wednesdays at 11:30am in the St. Francis Oratory Chapel in the main building at Canterbury. Please join us when you can.

Incarnation at Canterbury...
There is a great deal required to keep Canterbury going. Many projects to take on in terms of cleaning -up the grounds, landscaping, painting, and much more. If you are interested in taking on something, taking care of a specific area or task please let Fr. Jon know... jon@incarnationoviedo.com
Parking and Access: I am asking all those who are able to walk to the chapel, to park in the main parking lot near the Canterbury entrance. This will make for a short walk to the chapel through the campus. If you have mobility issues you are welcome to drive the gravel / dirt road around the perimeter of the Canterbury Campus to get to the chapel. You can check out a MAP OF CANTERBURY on the website CLICK HERE
Nursery: We are establishing our own nursery and it will be located in the Durham Room located in the in the breezeway of the 2 story lodging building on the way to the chapel. This is a living room space that has a kitchenette and bathroom and will serve us well in the short term. We have a pager system we will employ to give to parents when they drop off and check-in their child. For more information contact Shelly Buchan.
