Collect for the week
Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Approaching life with Thanksgiving...
Dear Friends,

Thanksgiving stirs all sorts of memories for folks.  Family and friends gathered, a feast which for many contains specific family favorites, football, Christmas shopping and decorating can be noteworthy additions to the long holiday weekends.  In the flurry of activity we can sprint by the what the day is about... Giving Thanks. We have much to be thankful for at Incarnation and on Thursday some of us will gather in the Fellowship Hall at RTS at 10am for a brief service of giving thanks and Holy Communion.

William Jennings Bryan said... "On
Thanksgiving Day we acknowledge our dependence."  I believe this is true. We need to acknowledge that all we are and all we have is because of the grace of Almighty God.  Every person is dependent upon Him whether they know it or not for all that is in life, the wonderful and the difficult.  Following Jesus means we rely on Him for everything.  a few years back I read this quote from H.W. Westermeyer...
"The pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts...nevertheless, they set aside a day of thanksgiving."
It is a stark reminder to me that whether in good times or bad times I am dependent upon and need the presence of our loving, merciful Almighty God at all times.  I can take things for granted or I can be a person giving thanks. I choose at least on this Thursday to be the latter and invite you to join me.

Thankful for all of you...
Fr. Jon / Vicar

THE CANTERBURY FUND...
On January 3rd we will begin our worship in the chapel at Canterbury.  This move will be exciting and I believe continue to prosper us as congregation growing in its ministry and influence in this community. It will come with some costs. We need some audio-visual equipment for the chapel; we need to set-up a nursery; there will be some needed signs and I am sure other things we have not thought about in terms of making this move. Initially I have estimated these needs to be around $7500.00 but it could be more. I am asking you to consider a special financial gift to Church of the Incarnation as we make this transition.  Would you give to the Canterbury Fund?   This money will be used to establish ours congregation and ministry on the Canterbury campus.

Please make your checks payable to Church of the Incarnation and mark them Canterbury Fund and either drop them in the offering on Sunday or mail them to
