A VERY FULL CYCLE OF NEWS...

Dear Friends,
There is a lot going on in our life. I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Rev. Sarah in her new calling and ministry at Church of the Good Shepherd in Maitland. This is wonderful for Good Shepherd and Sarah, but sad for us. On November 15th at our Canterbury Picnic we take a moment to give thanks for Rev. Sarah's ministry at Incarnation. If you would like to make a donation to a "gift / purse" to Rev. Sarah please mark you check accordingly and drop it in the offering on Sunday or get it in by November 10th.
We are in our Stewardship Season as we consider every aspect of our lives under the Lordship of Christ. Please consider your pledge to Incarnation and what you are to give to the church for its operation and ministry. Pledge Cards available on Sundays and on line CLICK HERE.
The Canterbury Trail... I will begin duties as the Executive Director of Canterbury as of November 16th. There is a news story on the diocesan website... CLICK HERE Incarnation is entering into discussions with the Board of Canterbury as to the partnership. We will have an opportunity to "walk the grounds" on Sunday, November 15th during a picnic following our morning service. There are still many questions to be answered and I ask for your prayers, questions, comments and input as we move forward. On Sunday, Nov. 22 at the 9am adult class we will have a Canterbury Forum.
As I have pondered all of these developments I am convinced that God is opening some significant doors for us to grow and expand our ministry in this community and beyond. We will have to live into some of this as the relationship is formed. Some will come quickly and some items will take time to develop and define. We wait patiently to see all that this will mean for us. Please feel free to speak with vestry members or myself.

As most of you know I am actually on my annual autumn pilgrimage to the mountains of Western North Carolina. Pray for me as I have a personal retreat for a few days before my "cabin buddies" join me on the weekend.
These are amazing, exciting days filled with change for us as a congregation. This "shifting" can make us anxious. In the midst of it we anchor ourselves in Christ knowing He has a plan and a purpose for us. I am reminded of some verses that have comforted me throughout my life...
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD," (Jeremiah 29:11-14)
So we seek the Lord with confidence knowing there are good things ahead and we cling to Jesus who loves us. This is the day by day strategy for life for all followers of Jesus.
