Dear Friends,
As we grow in Christ, as we move forward in ministry we need to keep our focus on Christ and His Kingdom. There are many distractions in this world and some I would liken to static. According to Websters... Static as a noun is crackling, hissing noises on a telephone, radio, or other telecommunications system. As an adjective, static is lacking in movement, action, or change, esp. in a way viewed as undesirable or uninteresting. Static does not help.
When life gets busy, when we get stressed, when relationships get strained it can very well produce static - an irritant that can annoy and paralyze us. Frustration sets in and we find ourselves lost in a haze.
The remedy for the static in my life is simply prayer. Being still and responsive to the Holy Spirit, listening to God's word, confession and repentance all relieve the static in my life and I commend them to you as a means of living a focused life. When we are overwhelmed with work, when there is a crisis in the family, when I by my actions harm a friend or am injured by someone else; I am encouraged throughout scripture to pray, repent, confess and focus on God. From this past weeks epistle we have this encouragement... (James 4:8) Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you We do this by prayer. Try it and you will find it the most perfect medicine for what ails your soul.
Living, dwelling and rejoicing in the land where blessings abound!
