O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Sunday, October 4th - we welcome Dave Buehring as our guest preacher.
 A lot going on...
kneeler
Dear Friends,

What a special day Sunday was as we celebrated our 3rd anniversary as a mission congregation of the Diocese of Central Florida.  The picture above shows the "kneeler" we dedicated to the Glory of God and in honor of Micki Nowell.  Given by Tom and Kristi Alday (Micki's daughter). I know it will be used diligently and will adorn our worship space beautifully.

I am sad to say we had a technical glitch and did not get Canon Bennett's fine sermon for the web.   One of the highlights of his homily was the Baptismal Charge from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer that Canon Bennett used in commissioning us in this calling called Incarnation Oviedo.  Here it is...

We receive this person into the congregation of Christ's flock; and do sign him with the sign of the Cross, in token that hereafter they shall not be ashamed to confess the faith of Christ crucified, and manfully to fight under his banner, against sin, the world, and the devil; and to continue Christ's faithful soldier and servant unto their life's end. Amen.

Powerful words and much to ponder when we consider the mission in which we are engaged.

Living, dwelling and rejoicing in the land where blessings abound!

Fr. Jon / Vicar

A few things...

About a month ago I was propositioned by a new church group wanting to use the Mission House on Sunday Mornings and a weekday evening.  They are endeavoring to plant and start a new ministry here in Oviedo.  After further discussion we discovered that they are brothers and sisters in Christ who share a similar vision of advancing the Kingdom of God. After much prayer and deliberations among the vestry and checking al the ramifications that we could discern we have moved forward with a lease agreement giving them access to the Mission House on Thursday evenings (6-10pm) and Sunday Mornings (8am-12noon).  This I believe is good stewardship of this valuable asset God has given us; it will mean some added income as we grow; and most of all the Kingdom is growing in Oviedo!  One of the vestry comments that has rung in my ear was, "we should do for them what RTS does for us".  They do not have an official name but pray for the new church starting this Sunday at the Mission House.

Alex Ghiglieri is starting work his Eagle project this weekend and needs some help in assembling the walkway between the Mission House and the Prayer Garden.  His work schedule is 2-4pm each day on the following days:  Saturday and Sunday  (9/19 & 20)  and Saturday and Sunday 9/26 & 27. Please help him out if you can in making this gift to us.  You can contact Alex via email at... aghiglieri@cfl.rr.com  or by phone at 407-365-1146

WE NEED PICTURES...  If you have pictures of favorite churches (both inside and out) that you would want our architect to consider and will help inform us of options and possibilities for what we will build; please send them to Steve Overstreet at overstrs@aol.com
