Grant us, O Lord, to trust in you with all our hearts; for, as you always resist the proud who confide in their own strength, so you never forsake those who make their boast of your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Sunday, October 4th - we welcome Dave Buehring as our guest preacher
 Three years at Incarnation...
Dear Friends,

Three years old... on Sunday September 10, 2006 we gathered for our first Sunday worship as a community in the chapel at Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center. We had been a group of 15-20 people thinking about an Episcopal church in Oviedo. Suddenly and to our surprise 40+ people showed up and we gathered more than the necessary 25 signatures to become an organized mission of the diocese.

A lot has happened since then...
Property and renovation, worship in the mission House beginning Christmas Eve on 2006, a successful public launch, worship at RTS, Ministries and Programs for all ages, retreats and teaching missions, work and outreach, baptisms, confirmations, weddings, resurrection liturgies, morning prayer, generosity, stewardship, and a lot food, fellowship and fun have all been essential ingredients in the recipe called Incarnation in Oviedo.

We have done a lot of things but at the core of this is our rule of life... To love God, love each other and love/serve the world for the sake of Christ Jesus.  We exist to worship God, loving him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. May we be known for our extravagant love for one another - a true Christian community of people bound to each other in Christ. May we reach out in love and service to the world proclaiming the Gospel to a world in need of good news.  This is our DNA, our identity - it is who we are. This fuels us amid all the activity of this world.

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate three years with gratitude.  I recently celebrated a birthday and a friend wrote me on facebook... God's grace be upon you, reminding you of His faithfulness through the years and His commitment to your future. I think it is so appropriate for us, for where we are and where we are going. We are living a Kingdom Present but it is just a taste, a glimmer of what we will be and do - I see a Kingdom Future where the authority of Christ is spread through us by His love and grace in ways we can only imagine.  Join us in the adventure called Incarnation!

Living, dwelling and rejoicing in the land where blessings abound!
