From the Book of Common Prayer... A prayer for young persons God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Friends,
Two weeks on the road and 2500 miles traveled I return with joy and thanksgiving. The Incarnation Youth Group had a wonderful and spiritually renewing time at Valle Crucis Conference Center in North Carolina. There was great fun, laughter; quiet prayer and inspiring sessions; small groups; waterfall hikes; bluegrass music; "RC and Moon-Pies" some precious gems; a visit from BALD GUY BREW and the 1st Annual Incarnation Olympic Relays.
In all this activity our young people went deeper in their faith and bound themselves to Christ in profound ways. The Rev. Don Cox, a priest friend of mine local to the area came out to share one evening. He is involved in mission work around the world through the buying and selling of coffee. In his talk he mentioned something that resonated deeply with me. He said, "Tribal community is expressed as, 'I am, because we are' and Christian community is expressed as 'we are, because He is'". I think the youth group stepped deeper into this reality. This understanding of community is rooted in the love of and love for God and love for each other.
I spent some of this morning at our VBS event for our children. Rev.
Sarah and Vicki Seavers and their team has the group exploring 1st
century Rome, the Apostle Paul and the Underground Church. In both of these events we are seeing us fulfill our baptismal promise...
Will you who witness these vows do all in your power to support these persons in their life in Christ?
We will and we are!
As we continue to move forward let us remember, embrace and rejoice in the fact that we belong to God and as scripture says "we are members of one another". Do not miss the opportunities coming up to share in this life. The Newcomers / Fellowship breakfast this Sunday (everyone is invited) and the Prayer and Praise on June 24th. Let us gather at these events with the mindset of loving God and each other.
Living where blessings abound! The Rev. Jon Davis+ / Vicar
