Dear Friends,
One of the things this year I am doing in Lent is listening to a sermon each day. With the wealth of resources on-line I am taking time each day to hear tremendous preachers who inspire me with their insights into Holy Scripture and the living of the Christian life. Just as our sermons from Incarnation are PODCAST so are hundreds and thousands of others. (I am glad to make some recommendations if you like - just pop me an email)
Preaching is there to build up, encourage, challenge and inspire us to greater discipleship and following Jesus with deeper diligence and commitment. Preaching is a gift to the church. Throughout my life I have been surrounded by excellent preachers who creatively craft sermons that at times have literally changed my life. I aspire to this every time I step into the pulpit. It is my hope that the gift of preaching abounds at Incarnation. It is a central means of renewal and revival of faith. I ask your prayers that our "pulpit" is a place of power where the Holy Spirit pours forth in power flooding people with the Good News of the Kingdom.
A chorus we sing (written by Al Holley) could easily apply to the preachers and the congregation in this endeavor...
LET YOUR LOVE FLOW FROM ME, LET IT FLOW. LET YOUR LOVE FLOW FROM ME, LET IT FLOW. MAY YOUR WORD, RICHLY DWELL, IN THIS HEART OF MINE. LET YOUR LOVE FLOW FROM ME, LET IT FLOW.
A request for preachers and people everywhere and everyday.
