Dear Friends,
Mondays I try and take time to be still. I ponder Sunday's worship; what worked and what we could have done better. I think about the sermon (especially if I preached) and ask, "Did I handle this sacred responsibility effectively?" I look ahead at the week and try and organize all the tasks and meetings before me. I find it to be necessary in the stewardship of this call.
We will do this on a larger scale this Saturday, February 7. The vestry, staff and ministry leaders at Incarnation will meet to look at our mission and ministry and how we are to move forward in 2009. Please pray for us in this process as we seek the Lord and His will for us. I believe this year will be significant as our ministry grows. I hope for deeper discipleship; spirit-filled worship; mission & outreach; greater connection and fellowship and more. May we grow in our love for God and each other and may we see the Kingdom advance in us and through us.
One thing we will continue to work on is our Request For Proposal - RFP (this necessary step in our plans for building) We have asked for commitments / pledges to help push us over the mark we need, to release the RFP to architects. We are hoping to raise $18,000.00+ in order to do so. Please pray as to how you are to participate in this part of mission. For more information please speak to either me or Steve Overstreet our Long Range Planning Chairperson.
Additionally I want to share a couple of links with you...
There is a lot going on with the youth group and you can see the calendar for the next few months by clicking here.
I was sent a link that has an amazing picture of the Inauguration of President Obama. It is High Definition and when you zoom in you can see faces of folks in the crowd. Check it out: CLICK HERE

Lenten Retreat with Bishop Howe
Bishop Howe will be conducting his second annual Lenten Retreat at Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center, February 27 / 28. The topic is How To Give Away Your Faith. Bishop Howe is a gifted teacher and we will be challenged by him to effectively and articulately share the faith once received. I hope you decide to make this part of your Lenten discipline - it promises to be a renewing experience of our mission and calling in Christ Jesus to go into all the world and proclaim the Good News. Commuter rates are available. For more details and to register please check the following website... Bishop Howe / Lenten Retreat
