Concerning our Request for Proposal

We are asking members and supporters to help us in raising the remaining funds needed to release the Request For Proposal (RFP)   You can hear about this in my address at our annual meeting last Sunday. (Click Here for sermon podcast from Annual Meeting) Our RFP is an essential step in moving us forward to developing a master plan and getting Site Development approval from Seminole County and eventually a building.

We currently have $42,261.16 in our Building fund.  We need approximately $60,000.00 to release the RFP in good faith.  We are asking for commitments to help us push us over the mark. If we get enough in commitments from the congregation we will release the RFP and take another step in the journey to a place of our own.

I am asking you to pray for Church of the Incarnation in this process that we would not take any missteps and that we would be completely in the will of Almighty God.   Pray about...
  How are you to participate?
      What are you to give?
We have commitment cards available on Sundays.

Please feel free to contact me if you have specific questions or comments.

In these difficult days of financial burden and stress, may God our Provider show us the way forward.

Living where God's blessings abound,

Fr. Jon+

A couple more things for this week...
There were two more items I wanted to bring to your attention: A request for prayer (below) and News about our Request for Proposal (building plans on the left)

Dear Friends,

Shortly after the last update I was called on by a friend to go and pray with a family who is facing an incredible hardship.   Omar, a student at RTS has been diagnosed with ALS, (Lou Gherig's disease) and he has been given little hope of recovery by the doctors.  His five year old son, Joseph has had Luekemia for four years and other than a brief 3 month remission he has struggled with this disease all of his life.  I prayed with this family, the other children and his wife Mervat. Joseph was strangely curious of my "oil stock" sniffing it and gently touching it.   My heart goes out to this family and especially to Omar and Joseph who this world gives little to no hope. Jesus authors hope in this world for the sick and struggling.  Our hope is in him and it seems to be a phrase stuck in my head...  When we hope in him we are not dissapointed.  Omar and Jospeh and this family love Jesus, they know Him and are holding on in faith for healing and wholeness.

I am asking you to pray for Omar and Joseph, believing God for a miracle.  Our hope is in Jesus who redeems, delivers, restores, reconciles, saves, provides and heals.

Peace and Grace,
Jon+  /  Vicar

PS.  I have posted some prayers below for use in praying for Omar and Joseph.
Healing Prayers from the Book of Common Prayer

For a Sick Person
O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly beseech thee to behold, visit, and relieve thy sick servant N. for whom our prayers are desired. Look upon him with the eyes of thy mercy; comfort him with a sense of thy goodness; preserve him from the temptations of the enemy; and give him patience under his affliction. In thy good time, restore him to health, and enable him to lead the residue of his life in thy fear, and to thy glory; and grant that finally he may dwell with thee in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For Recovery from Sickness
O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant N. the help of your power, that his sickness may be turned into health, and our sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

or this

O God of heavenly powers, by the might of your command you drive away from our bodies all sickness and all infirmity:  Be present in your goodness with your servant N., that his weakness may be banished and his strength restored; and that, his health being renewed, he may bless your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For a Sick Child
Heavenly Father, watch with us over your child N., and grant that he may be restored to that perfect health which it is yours alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

or this

Lord Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of the sheep, you gather the lambs in your arms and carry them in your bosom: We commend to your loving care this child N. Relieve his pain, guard him from all danger, restore to him your gifts of gladness and strength, and raise him up to a life of service to you. Hear us, we pray, for your dear Name's sake. Amen.
