Studio News
by Jack Rinehart
2009
is over! Here comes 2010! This year was a special year for Photo
Source! We celebrated 20 years of being in business at the Westport
location. This milestone wouldn't have been achieved if not for our
many wonderful clients, families and friends. Also, Photo Source
wouldn't be here today if not for the committed efforts of Theresa and
Jessica. Both of these ladies make this place run. My Thanks!
2009
marks another milestone for us. We have remained 100% digital for over
7 years, and in 2009 not a single film exposure was made for any of our
clients. We made the digital commitment, and have worked to become well trained and equipped to combine this medium with our creativity,
and consistently deliver superior imagery.
We
have been very fortunate this year and count our blessings to have
survived the economic challenges. We haven't just
weathered the storm; rather we have proven that our steady course and
on-going commitment to our clients is what makes our studio successful.
As
we begin a new year, I along with Theresa and Jessica wish you a joyous
holiday season and a wonderful and properous 2010. Our sincere thanks!

Local Slice - Photography Around Town
Check out some photography at local galleries by Jessica Carr
Through January 31, 2010 Tom Friedman: REAM Artist Tom Friedman's work defies categorization: it encompasses
drawing, photography, collage, painting, sculpture, performance, new
media and conceptual art. To create the animated film, REAM,
Friedman used a ream (500 sheets) of standard letter-sized paper to
create 500 unique drawings that he then animated into a 500-frame film
sequence. The imagery in the drawings is canonical Friedman: apparently
simple-prosaic even-but richly layered and sophisticated. The animated
drawings express his characteristic light tone, reinforced by the speed
at which the viewer experiences the drawings. The exhibition is now on view in Gallery 301. The Saint Louis Art Museum, Gallery 321 One Fine Arts Drive , Forest Park (314) 721-0072 Tues-Sun 10 am -5 pm, Fri 10 am - 9 pm http://www.stlouis.art.museum.com

Considering the "Necessities" by Theresa Crnko
It's the holiday season once again. As the year winds down and all the holiday gatherings with friends and family approach, I find it a good time to reflect on the year that has passed in nearly the blink of an eye. Every year I am amazed at how lucky I am. All one has to do it read the paper, watch the news or listen to the radio to hear about the daily trials and tragedies around the world.
We all hear stories from the generations before about their childhood and hard times. The famous story of "I walked 2 miles to school in the snow." We may think those stories are tall tales but some ring true for far too many, even today.
I take inventory of all the "necessities" in my life and realize they are gifts and privileges. The things that seem to be normal everyday items that I take for granted; cars, vacations, jewelry, education. How often do I say "need" when it's really a "want"? I truly do not
know what it means to need. And for that I am grateful.
I didn't think I made resolutions at the start of the new year, but I guess I do. My resolution is to acknowledge those people in my life that are a gift and to be thankful everyday for all the privileges in my life.
Happy holidays everyone.
