While methods, tools and resources have always been essential to strategically aligning meetings and events with overall business goals, our search for the right technology began in 2003. Unfortunately, what we needed to properly track, measure and evaluate event effectiveness was unavailable at the time.
Although we considered building it, we remembered our mission: to help leaders recognize the business and leadership value of meetings and events. Used effectively and efficiently, they are not a costly travel and hospitality expense. Rather, they become an investment with Strategic Event AlignmentŠ which uses meetings and events as part of a marketing and communications strategy to drive organizational goals.
It brings us great pleasure to report technological progress has allowed many tools to be developed since then. Technology is now crucial for enabling successful application of an event portfolio alignment! In fact, Maclean's and Canadian Business published my 2008 article, Technology Track, where I discuss how event technology can provide organizational efficiency while an integrated event portfolio strategy provides effectiveness by driving business goals.
Today, there are so many event tools, resources and technology available, their names often escape us. We'vemade life much easier by grouping them all into a category wecall, Thingamajiggers. And this is exactly what we named our new Corner Office feature !
In this first `Thingamajiggers' episode, we introduce you to an exciting new event technology, NMN Mobi. It's a web-based event guide and interactive tool with a fascinating repertoire of features. While we highlighted some of the benefits in the video, we didn't have time to talk about all of its capabilities, including event tracking, social media integration and video streaming!
What really energizes us about this technology is its power to forever change the face of meetings and events. This product's real-time component perfectly coordinates with the changing business landscape initiated by the Internet, its evolution to interactivity and social media marketing trends.
