Let's Connect
Greetings!

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness,
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people,
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry,
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone,
People, even more then things have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arm.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.

Life is precious and helping and giving to those less fortunate than us is important. We were recently reminded of this by the horrific earthquakes in Haiti and Chile. With the generous donations made by people worldwide, we proved that Audrey Hepburn had it right. When help is needed, it's in us to give unconditionally.

What if we were to take this same kind of positive energy and channel it to something closer to home? In Canada, one in every 7 women lives in poverty. In our own Nation's backyard, maybe even steps from your home, are women and their children in need of our help. These women fell into poverty for reasons that could happen to any of us: illness, divorce, violence, immigration, or job loss. Hearing this has made me realize, even more, how fortunate I am and I think I should do something to help make things better, for others less fortunate.

If you recall, last November, I shared that I've challenged myself to help move 10 women out of poverty by raising $25,000 by July 1st, 2010 and I asked you to save a date - June 30th, 2010.

Why July 1st, you may ask? Well...beside it being our great Nation's birthday, it is also my birthday. This July I will be 50 years young and I thought the best way to celebrate is to give back. So I've partnered with the Canadian Women's Foundation to support their  Women Moving Women campaign. It's a groundbreaking campaign to change the face of poverty in Canada. They're recruiting 2,500 women and men to donate $2,500 to move 2,500 women out of poverty in Canada. Have a look at the site for more information (click the image on the right).

The Canadian Women's Foundation is also supported and funded completely through generous donations from people like you and me. (For more information, visit www.canadianwomen.org)

On June 30th I will be ringing in my 50th year by hosting a Fundraiser Gala. I'm inviting you to come out and celebrate with me by Sharing Your Good Life and giving women like Devi, the opportunity to increase her chances of having a better life. Share The Good Life Fundraiser Gala will be held at Château des Charmes in Niagara-on-the-Lake Ontario. Our goal is to apply the full event ticket price of $150.00 per person towards our set target of $25,000. If your organization is interested in being a Sponsor, please contact me directly at 416.661.4186 or by replying to this email.

We truly are fortunate and many of us live very comfortably yet an abundant number of women and their children do not.The Foundation has set up a secure website for Share The Good Lifewhich you can access at the bottom of this page. I encourage you to forward and share this link
with your family and friends and ask them to Share Their Good Life. By making a donation they empower a woman to acquire new skills, which will start her on the road of prosperity, so that she can provide for herself and her children and have a better quality of life. Your gift will carry us closer to our goal of $25,000.  A Good Life is something that everyone should have.

I look forward to sharing and celebrating our success with you on June 30th, 2010 at Château des Charmes. In the meantime, I promise to keep you posted on our progress in future issues of Share The Good Life
