Hey PCC Family & Friends
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me. Revelation 3:20 (NCV)
Dear PCC Family,
As we enter into the holiday season, as well as the close of this year, I sense a great deal of hope rising within our church family. Each week, as more and more people walk on our campus, I receive feedback of the friendly atmosphere and "hope" that they feel. Whether it is a weekend service or a community event, there is an anticipation about what God is doing in your lives, as well as what He is about to do in our church.
This past weekend, we saw over 2300 people visit our campus for our 15th annual Fall Festival. I want to thank all of our volunteers for making this such an amazing event. Thank you to all of you who contributed not only your time but your resources too. And thanks to all of those who stepped out on a limb, engaged in a conversation with someone from our community, and invited them to PCC. What you have done, whether you know it or not, is plant a seed of hope into their hearts.
In fact, as we enter this holiday season we have an opportunity to bring hope to people in our community and in the various other places we serve beyond St. Petersburg. This November, we will be collecting and delivering Thanksgiving baskets to several families. In December, we're wrapping gifts for free at Wal-Mart. Also during December, we will receive a Christmas offering that will go to support and encourage the children here in St Petersburg, the migrant children in Wimauma, FL, as well as the students and orphans in Nicaragua and Kenya.
Each time we serve someone, it's like a "knock at the door" of their heart. While it won't be something we can see with our eyes, I believe God will use us to bring attention to Himself and by showing the love that He has for them. They just might open the "door" of their heart and allow Him to come in and be their friend. Is there any greater joy or any greater purpose for which we can serve?
Thank you for your generosity and commitment to the mission of PCC in developing Christ followers. Together, we are can bring hope to our World.

DELIVERY DATE: Saturday, November 21 @ 10am
This annual event is another way in which PCC can demonstrate God's
love to under-resourced families in our community for the holiday.
Residents of Boca Ciega Apartments and White Hall Apartments will
receive a bag of groceries filled with all of the items they need for a
full Thanksgiving meal in their home, as well as a handwritten note
expressing how much God loves them and we love them. This is not a hand
out, but rather a hand up for many of our neighbors needing help during
this season.
What's needed is:
- Jiffy pie crust mix
- Jiffy corn muffin mix
- Mashed potatoes
- Pumpkin pie filling
- Cranberry sauce
- Candied yams
- Sliced carrots
- Green beans
- Corn
- Stuffing Mix
- A $12 supermarket gift card to cover the cost of the Thanksgiving turkey
Grocery bags may dropped off between Sunday services on November
8th and 15th and on Vertical Worship Service night on Wednesday,
November 15th. On Vertical night, all bags will be double-checked and
any incomplete bags will be stuffed.
You can also get involved with the Thanksgiving Giveaway by helping
distribute the pre-grocery giveaway announcement cards at the apartment
complexes on Sunday, November 15th at 12:00 noon. This lets the
residents know that someone should be home since we will be delivering
gift bags for them the following Saturday. Help is also needed to
distribute the grocery bags on Saturday, November 21st. The
Thanksgiving Giveaway team will meet at PCC at 9:00 am and start
delivering bags at approximately 10:00 am. These are two more
opportunities in which PCC can serve.
This event is a wonderful community service.
You can always give without love, but the best way to love is to give.

New Sermon Series

We all have it, whether you
think you do or not. We all use it, whether you realize it or not. But
more importantly, it's not what you have but what you do with what you have. Influence. Join us for this four week teaching series as we examine
the power of influence from well known cultural icons and how our own lives can
produce the desired affect on those around us.
Kanye West: Under the Influence
November 8th
Influence is the ability to persuade and the power to move others toward a
particular goal. But what if our life doesn't match our words? What
then?
Brangelina: Positive Influence
November 15th
There is no more powerful influence than to serve and encourage others.
But who are we doing it for? During this talk, we'll look at giving
our lives to others for something greater than just our own credit.
Oprah: Sphere of Influence
November 22nd
Encouraging and inspiring those who have come into our lives is a great way to
influence them. But what if our influence is misleading or confusing?
Bill O'Reilly: Above the Influence
November 29th
When you find out a good thing, people appreciate when you let them in on what
you've found. But how you share that information can be just as important as
the information itself.
