I am feeling optimistic for 2011.  Currently, we are working on more ways to better serve your healthcare needs and make us more accessible to you. 

Watch for major changes on our website and in our office! 

• Under construction on our website is a special 'portal' available to my patients to get medical information, in 'understandable, cliff-note style' on the ever changing world of medicine.  There will be articles on numerous medical topics and videos to further enhance your 'web' experience on Doctordoug.com.

• We are on our way to becoming an electronic-medical-records practice.  In an established practice such as ours, this is a tremendous undertaking, but in the end everyone will benefit, especially you. One of the main objectives of an electronic medical records system, EMR, is to unify records and make them more available to other providers participating in your healthcare.  Our goal is to coordinate and increase the quality of medical care, one of the main components of 'good medical care.'  To achieve this goal, my front desk will be asking you to update your patient information and will scan your insurance cards into our system when you visit.
   
  

  A quick reminder to my Medicare patients, your yearly deductible starts again.  If you have not met your deductible, you will be asked for your portion at the time of service.  Also, the practice's annual administration fee is due on you first visit in 2011.
