A Tale of Two Shows....
Having attended both the Graph Expo and SGIA show, I must ask this....why aren't these shows merging? I'm sure the heads of both associations won't appreciate the question, but it's worth challenging them with it. The incredible expenses which the exhibitors pay to get only a portion of the market in successive weeks is unreasonable, and everyone - EVERYONE - would benefit from a bigger show in the fall. As few as five years ago, only 1 of our top 30 accounts was from the offset/litho side of the industry. Now more than 10 out of our top 30 are offset/litho customers. The bigger players from the litho side are bringing in all the printing needs for their customers...from the catalogs and posters all the way up to their billboards and truck wraps. I don't see this trend ending anytime soon. This is another reason why the two shows need to merge. Other than that, both shows were successful. I can't remember the last show where so many people were telling me they need to spend money on equipment or their profits will just go to the tax man. It was music to our ears and exciting to hear. Best of luck in the fourth quarter, and if we can do anything to help your company finish the year strong, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Mark Snelling |

New Stuff
"3mil Polycarbonate Laminating Film" from Ritrama: Most people are familiar with standard 5, 10, and 15 mil Polycarbonate laminates used for trade show graphics, but did you know Ritrama makes a 3mil version as well? It saves money against the thicker versions and still has that same surface end users are familiar with. Want a sample? The short rolls are free, we just ask you provide a FedEx number to cover the cost of freight. Contact your local Hasco Representative or Jennifer Luu at (216) 763-2143 or via email
Did you know? Ritrama sells 60" polycarbonate laminate in all four thicknesses!
New Product....Ri Print Slap Shot: This unique new product came from a customer who wanted a more durable product for 'dasher boards' in hockey rinks, but the uses are much wider than just hockey rinks! This product is a 6mil 'semi-rigid' vinyl with a permanent adhesive designed for any high impact applications. Hockey rinks are just one example, but think of any areas that take a beating....grocery stores, ski resorts, baggage claim graphics. If you've had problems with impact issues, this is the product for you. To view the spec sheet, click here. For samples or pricing, contact your Hasco Representative or Jennifer Luu at (216) 763-2143.
Did you know? Ritrama is one of the very few true manufacturers of cast vinyl on the continent. They make a consistent and quality product from their facility in Cleveland, Ohio. The savings are substantial when compared with the standard brands known for cast products, and we also have the air-egress release liner for easy application to surfaces. For a review of the cast line-up from Ritrama, visit this page of the website. ____________________________________________________________________________
Get Your Prints off of the floor! Many people who do billboards with tiny hand-held welders don't realize how much faster and more convenient a Miller Weldmaster really is. Follow this link to the 112 Extreme Billboard video to see a full size billboard completed on a Miller 112 in just over 5 minutes with two staffers. Want to see it with your own eyes? We love taking customers right to the plant to show them first-hand what life is like using a Miller Weldmaster. It's a trip worth taking if you aren't as fast or efficient as you wish you could be with floor welding equipment.

KoroGraphics is committed to finding a green solution for the wall covering marketplace. While we continue to work on a LEED certified product which will fit the needs of digital printing, we can tout a program called the Reclamation Program. KoroGraphics' parent company, RJF International, had a division dedicated to receiving used wall coverings then chewing the material up in order to use it for applications like floor mats and impact protection materials. ________________________________________________________________________________ Magnet is magnet, right? Well, when you are taking about magnetic capability, that's true. But when you talk about the finishing required from our industry on magnetic printing, it's not so true. FlexMag's new technology, Flexcoat EZ, has a distinct advantage when it comes to cutting, slitting, etc. after you are done printing. Ever have to cut down a bunch of vinyl coated magnet? The blade inevitably gums up and causes tears, adhesive goobers, and can delaminate from the magnet itself. The FlexCoat EZ technology is a coating that won't do any of that, and it is a greener solution! Because of the lack of PVC, the material can be recycled easily and reused instead of going into a landfill. Best of all, the FlexCoat EZ technology comes at no additional cost! Want to know more? Need a sample? Contact your Hasco Representative or Jennifer Luu at (216) 763-2143. Interested in distributing this product line? Contact Mark Snelling at (216) 903-8313.
