A Perfect Season 7 - 0!!! |
This year, the MAHS Fighting Lions football team completed a perfect season. They ended the season 7-0 with a victory over J.P. Freeman and captured our second Divisional Championship in three years. Even though we lost to Southside in post season play, we were extremely proud of our football players and coaches. So, congratulations on a wonderful season and we wish our teams much success in the future.

From the Director's Desk
This is our third E-News publication and I hope it is helpful in keeping you informed about what is happening at MAHS. Please feel free to let me know via email any suggestions you may have that will help make this publication more effective. This particular edition covers November and December.
It was a very busy first half of the school year and the second half will be just as challenging. But we are excited about what is in store for our students as this year moves forward. To begin with, this month (January), MAHS students will celebrate the swearing in of the first African American as President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. We will have a special program on Inauguration Day to celebrate this historic event. So, if you can break away from your busy schedule, please join us!
Our students are still excited about this school year, and we continue to appreciate your unwavering support. And don't forget, you can find more information about MAHS on our NEW WEBSITE at http://mahsmiddleandhigh.com/. Take care! Curtis Weathers, Executive Director

THANKSGIVING TO OUR NEIGHBORS
MAHS staff and students gave thanks and thanksgiving baskets to 15 families that live in our school neighborhood. Each homeroom packed and decorated boxes with canned food, drinks, and a fat juicy turkey and gave it to our neighbors. It was an act of kindness students were happy to express. The families were invited to a brief program to receive their baskets. Click the photo above to see additional thanksgiving pictures.

And with each occasion, they get better and better! Over the Christmas break they performed in three jamborees and two Christmas parades. This month, they will perform in two jamborees and two parades. Our majorettes and drumline are sponsored and coached by Ms. Claudia Robinson and Cory Williams. Ms. Robinson is also our middle school sixth grade reading instructor, cheerleader and track coach.
