Dear Teachers,
Teaching is certainly one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. It offers you a chance even *requires* you to be and do many things all at once. It's hard, but that makes it all the more worthwhile. And working with children... well, that's a great privilege not to be underestimated. For this Thanksgiving week, we asked TpT Sellers why they love to teach.
Texan Lidia Barbosa (KinderLatino) says: "I love to teach because I LOVE to see the spark in a student's eye when he/she learns something new. To see that sudden glow in their face gives me goose bumps because that's when I can tell that I am definitely making a huge impact in their learning. Moments like these fill my heart with joy!"
"I teach special education and I love it because when students are given half a chance from a caring adult, amazing things can happen for that child. They learn they can achieve and they are like their peers which is all they want, to be 'normal'," says Karla Banks from Tennessee.
Middle School Coloradan teacher Mark Aaron says, "I love to teach because it keeps me in tune with the youth of today and I'm convinced that keeps me feeling younger. Kids are naturally funny and it's a great way to develop and keep your sense of humor. Finally, I teach because I prefer to work and interact with kids instead of adults... they are so much more reasonable!"
Deanna Jump says, "I love teaching because I get to ignite a passion for learning in my little ones. I try to make each day an exciting learning adventure and there is no greater joy than the voice of a child yelling out, 'This is so cool!' 'Wow, I never knew that!' 'I can't wait to tell my mom and dad!' Teaching today is full of challenges but we must remember it is the little things that make it all worthwhile."
Happy Thanksgiving, and remember that you have the greatest job in the world.
Teach and be well,
Paul Edelman

TpT SPOTLIGHT
For those who teach thematically by season or holiday, a keyword search for December returns 247 results, a search for Winter 878 results, and a search for Christmas returns 1400 results. Happy browsing.
For upper elementary and even middle schoolers, Natalie Kay has a quality product available called American Hero Book Report and Wax Museum. "It is everything you need to implement a Wax Museum for your class, grade level, or school." It's on sale today and costs $10.20.
High School History and English teacher Nathan Johnson is also a football, track and volleyball coach. Sounds like a well-rounded person. Nathan recently joined TpT as a contributor and has 5 products posted thus far. Welcome!
Need fresh ideas updated daily? You can find them on teacher blogs. It's the best way to see the materials you find on TpT in action, as teacher-author-bloggers share their implementation stories, what works for them and often show thier results with pictures from their own classrooms. It's good stuff.
Lastly, a big big THANK YOU for making TeachersPayTeachers the most vibrant teacher to teacher sharing network in the world. Maximizing time, rewarding colleagues, and benefiting from each others gifts and needs -- these are just a few of the great things about TpT, but it only exists because of your participation. Thank you.
