Be a part of RivahFest while supporting your community buy purchasing a duck. The excitement of the RivahFest Rappahannock River Duck Race gets bigger and better each year. This year the purchase of each duck race ticket will benefit the Richmond County YMCA Strong Communities Campaign.
The YMCA Strong Communities Campaign raises funds so that no one is turned away from YMCA programs for the inability to pay. In 2011 the YMCA provided over $93,000 in scholarships.
Purchase your RivahFest Duck Race tickets at the YMCA in Warsaw or find a YMCA board member. Ducks are $5 each and 1st place wins $1000, 2nd place $500 and 3rd place $250. |
| SOFTBALL CAMP READY FOR BIGGEST YEAR YET | | |

The Richmond County YMCA will, once again, host the "Complete Game Softball Camp," June 18-21 at the Richmond County Little League Complex. The camp, for ages 8-17, provides thorough instruction in the areas of hitting, infield play, outfield play, base running, agilities, pitching and catching.
The camp directors include Lacey Berry, currently the second baseman at Randolph Macon, and Philip Belfield, current coach of the 23u Rowdies softball program. Members of the 23u Rowdies will help provide instruction and also share their experiences at some of the most competitive collegiate softball programs in the country. Players set to appear represent the University of Tennessee, James Madison University, Norfolk State, Liberty, Western Carolina, Stony Brook, Southwest Oklahoma State and others.

| COMMUNITY TOGETHER, SHOP AND SUPPORT THE Y | | |

On Saturday June 9, the Y encourages you to get out and shop local. Eleven area businesses have agreed to give back 10% of sales on the day.
The funds raised go to support the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign, which gaurantees that no one is turned away for the inability to pay. More than $93,000 in scholarships were provided in 2011.
Shop at these businesses: Colonial Collectibles, Commonwealth Florist, Garner's Produce, Klothz Patch, Love My Plants, Riverside Accents & Gifts, T-Town Tack and Stella & Dot - Sally Clements. Also these fine eateries also are participating; The Daily, Fat Finch and Northern Neck Gourmet.
