YMCA SOCCER TO PLAY ON NATIONAL STAGE 

ysoccerY soccer is underway with another fall season. Boys and girls from 3 to 15 years of age form twelve full teams that compete each Saturday at Richmond County Elementary School. Y Soccer teams will play home and away games against YMCAs in Northumberland, Lancaster and even Mathews and Middlesex counties.

 

This season will be highlighted by the  Richmond County YMCA 9-11 year old teams getting a chance to compete in Charlottesville, Virginia at the University of Virginia. The teams were invited to play at halftime of the UVA v. Boston College contest, one that pairs two nationally ranked teams on Saturday October 29 at 7 pm.  

TIME STILL LEFT FOR THE WHELAN'S MARINA 5K 
5K FinishThere is still time to register for the Whelan's Marina 5K at Warsaw Fest.  The 5K will take place on Saturday October 8 kicking off the festivities at Warsaw Fest at 9 am.  If you are a veteran runner or thinking about tackling a 5K for the first time, this is a great course and a fantastic way to get involved in this exciting day.  
 
Children ages 7-12 are encouraged to participate in the One Mile Kid's Fun Run.  Prizes will be given to 12 finishers in multiple categories including a pair of shoes from Virginia Runner in Fredericksburg to the fastest male and fastest female.  No matter your speed everyone has a chance to win the One Year Membership to the Richmond County YMCA.  Register by September 30 to avoid to final price bump.  Only $25 for Y members.
MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR THE 15TH YMCA AUCTION

November 5 will mark the 15th YMCA Auction.  Each fall since the YMCA provided services in Richmond County, volunteers have fashioned this signature event that raises funds for scholarships.  The Y auction, A TASTE OF THE NORTHERN NECK, will feature a vast menu to include; rockfish, hot crab dip, smoked beef and pork, a roasted oyster bar and so much more.  Each year the YMCA auctions off over 300 items, along with 20 popular items that will be auctioned live. Doors at Woodland Academy will open at 5:30 pm. 

 

Reservations can be made at the YMCA for only $35 by November 1.  The YMCA invites you to celebrate with your Y family while helping raise funds for the YMCA Strong Communities campaign.  From antiques to homemade cakes and deep sea fishing trips, the YMCA Auction - A TASTE OF THE NORTHERN NECK is a great place to find that unique holiday gift.
