"Exercising may be one of the best things you can do for yourself during and after your cancer treatment," claims Lance Armstrong.
The Richmond County YMCA is proud to announce the start of a free 8-week program, "Strength Over Cancer," beginning July 11. This program is for any person currently undergoing cancer treatments or has recently completed cancer treatments. All you need is a doctor's referral and each participant receives an 8-week membership to the YMCA along with a detailed exercise program for the 8 weeks.
Participants will make an appointment with the YMCA Health & Wellness Director and be taken through an orientation of all cardio and strength equipment. Call Barbie at the Y for more information.

YMCA HONORS THE PRESCHOOL CLASS OF 2011

The Richmond County YMCA graduated its fourth Preschool class on June 14 at Warsaw Baptist Church. Eighteen four year olds successfuly completed the YMCA curriculum, setting them up for Kindergarten in the fall. Fourteen three year olds also completed the year and will be ready for the next step at the Y Preschool. The Richmond County YMCA Preschool is a partnership with Warsaw Baptist Church on Main Street in Warsaw.
New for the 2011-2012, the YMCA will offer a class for 2 1/2 year olds. Openings are still available as well as in the three year old class. Financial assistance is available.

Do you like to shop? More importantly wouldn't you want to help a child have a bright start to the school year?
Well, you can do both as a volunteer shopper through YMCA Bright Beginnings. Bright Beginnings pairs volunteers with children in need of new school clothes for the upcoming school year. The YMCA will be raising the dedicated funds In July to support this program. If you would like to make a donation or more information please contact the YMCA at 333-4117.
August 17th the YMCA will provide a training for all volunteer shoppers. Please contact the YMCA if you are interested in serving.
