Congrats to ETC's
2009 Volunteers of the Year!
From left to right: Mark, Elena, and Frank |
We had so many incredible volunteers in 2009, that it was hard to even narrow it down to just three! Mark Westwind, Elena Van Loo, and Frank Hatch have been invaluable to every program and gave so much of their time last year, they all richly deserved it!
These awesome volunteers (and ALL of our amazing volunteers) were celebrated at our Volunteer Appreciation Party last month, at the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco. Everyone had a great time mixing and mingling amid the jellyfish exhibits and through the shark tube.
Thank you again for all your hard work and devotion! You guys ROCK!

Carry A Cup... It's Cool!

"After a year-long effort, including grant writing, design, and market research, we Youth LEAD Fellows have secured funding to materialize the idea of creating a movement within our generation!
"We call it, "Carry A Cup... It's Cool!" We have designed and ordered a cup which we'll be selling to kids for a donation of $5-$10 and to adults for a donation of $10-$20. Our goal is to enlighten others about the importance of living a sustainable lifestyle through wiser consumption, so drop that plastic water bottle and don't even touch that paper cup! Replace these items with a reusable cup!
"I am looking forward to getting our product out into the hands of others. It gives me a strong sense of self-fulfillment knowing that I am raising environmental awareness and inspiring others to become better stewards of the Earth. Please support us, ETC's Youth LEAD Fellows, in our efforts to get this movement going, by joining the cool crew and carrying one of our cups!"
-- Lana Salvador, Senior Youth LEAD Fellow
Stop by the ETC office in Building C of Fort Mason Center, or call 415-474-7662 x11 to place your order today!
