CT Radiation Safety Revisions Signed by the Governor

AB 510 (Lowenthal) the bill that made some changes to the new CT dose recording and radiation mis-administration law that took effect on July 1, 2012 was signed by the Governor on July  13th.  AB 510 contained a number of changes that were supported by the CRS and takes effect immediately since it was an urgency statute. The Cal-Rad Facts email sent on June 8th contained a description of the changes and can be found on our website at www.calrad.org under publications.  It also contained a link to recommendations for compliance from UCSF.

The Radiologic Health Branch has issued a new and more detailed FAQ document that incorporates the changes made by AB 510. We have provided a link below and encourage you and your staff to review the recommendations for compliance with the CT dose recording and reporting required for mis-administration of CT or radiation oncology.
