We Need Your Help Immediately on Possible Medi-Cal Rate Cut for Radiology/Diagnostic and Radiation Oncology

We told you last week that as part of his budget deficit fix, the Governor has proposed that for all radiology services under fee for service Medi-Cal, the rates be set at no more then 80% of the average statewide Medicare allowable. Using that 80% benchmark the reimbursement for many MRI, CT and other diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures will be reduced, in some cases substantially.

The CRS is vigorously opposing this cut, which when fully implemented will reduce Medi-Cal reimbursement by more then $30 million. We have argued that if this cut is imposed, access to these services will be impacted.
