MORE DAYS OF CARING!

An Oceana County Day of Caring record of just over 60 volunteers came together to help renovate 11 Washington Street in Hart. This building is the home of The Bread of Life Food Pantry that currently serves Oceana County. Also located in this building are 8+ vacant offices that will hopefully be filled in the future by non-profit agencies to create an outreach center for Oceana County. Volunteers cleaned and painted 14 rooms, steam cleaned carpets, cleaned the food pantry, moved and organized items and prepared flower beds ready for planting in the spring. The project inspired a few volunteers to commit to returning to the space to help with future renovation projects!

The 2012 Newaygo County Day of Caring volunteers built 100 picnic tables for area public parks for children and families to enjoy. More than 170 volunteers cooked, built, transported or spent countless hours preparing the building materials to make this day a success. Thank you!!
