 2012 CAMPAIGN UPDATE   

 

The 2012 United Way Campaign is getting under way!  Training dates are as follows:

 

Wednesday, July 18:  Pacesetter training from 8 - 9:30 a.m.

Tuesday, July 31Loaned Executive training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

Thursday, August 9:  Employee Campaign Coordinator training from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

 

All meetings will be held at United Way of the Lakeshore,

31 East Clay Avenue, downtown Muskegon.

 

We are still looking for a few more Loaned Executives; for more information please contact Nancy Robbins 877-722-3134 or nancy@unitedwaylakeshore.org. This is a great opportunity to serve the community!

United Way of the Lakeshore announces a special thank you sweepstakes for the 2012 campaign.  Any new gift of $50 or more, or any gift that has been increased from the previous year by $50, automatically qualifies you to be entered in the drawing for a 2013 Harley Davidson softail motorcycle!  In order to be included in this raffle, your pledge form or completed entry form must be received at the United Way office by 5 p.m. on November 16, 2012.  The winner will be announced on November 20 at the Muskegon campaign finale.

100 mile bike ride to benefit United Way

 

An opportunity to challenge yourself and support your community.  Thursday, September 6, at 8 a.m. -  Benefits Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana counties.  Start at the Hart-Montague Trail in Hart and end at DTE Energy, 2359 Olthoff Drive, Muskegon.

 

The Ride United committee is currently is search of century riders who are interested in volunteering or participating with this event as well as Premier Sponsors to partner with United Way of the Lakeshore and DTE Energy to bring this unique and health oriented event to our lakeshore.

2012 DAY OF CARING

The 19th Annual Day of Caring will take place on Friday, September 7, at Wesley Park on Marquette Avenue in Muskegon Township, and Rotary Park, located between the Muskegon YMCA and Heritage Landing.

SURVEY  
 

The Office of Services to the Aging is conducting a Michigan Aging and Disability Needs Assessment for Michigan adults over the age of 50 or adults over the age of 18 with a disability to fill out an online needs assessment survey. The information will be used to plan services for the future. The survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. The survey includes questions about health care, housing, long term services and supports, transportation, community engagement, social support and legal services. To take the survey before July 31, 2012, visit www.needsmichigan.com.

Pentwater Junior Women's Club Food Truck:  Third Tuesday of every month at 11am at the Pentwater Fire Barn.
