The Soul Lightening faculty wishes to invite you to join us in a wonderful world service practice that has been happening for the past few months.  It has been such a meaningful experience for us that we decided to extend the invitation to the entire Soul Lightening community!

 On the first Sunday of every month at noontime EST we each meditate wherever we are, in our own way, and for whatever length of time feels right (usually not more than an hour). Together we set the intention to connect with the worldwide Soul Lightening community, and with the world pyramid that is always in place. We do this to support higher consciousness for all beings, for one another, and for our own personal process work.

 Many of us have been working on ourselves during this time using PA or CA, or doing Seva "in the air" for the benefit of the world.  Regardless of what form the meditation takes, we are discovering that this is a very potent experience, and that wonderful insights and impressions often arise for us individually and collectively. We all know the power of numbers, so practicing this as a community truly amplifies the field.  

We welcome each and every one of you to be a part of this wonderful community building world service network. It is also an opportunity for each of us to work with our own process progressions in a powerful pyramid field. Soul Lightening Acupressure truly is making a difference on the planet, and supports each of us at our core and in our evolution as soulful beings.

Until they come to our table, most people have never been exposed to the amazing potential of acupressure as a healing modality. This is good news!!! It means that we have an opportunity to share an incredible journey of awakening with our clients. Still, many of us have some practical questions about how to effectively integrate Soul Lightening Acupressure into our new or existing practices.

What are some of your questions? What have you done that has really worked well? We hope this article is just the beginning of a whole-community conversation about this topic.
 

Monthly Chakra Tai Chi Group

Many years ago, as a new practitioner, and a teacher in training I was seeking ways to meet potential new clients, to let people in my community know about my work, and to get some practice speaking about Soul Lightening Acupressure.

After putting a notice in the newsletter of the local Unitarian Church offering to lead Chakra Tai Chi as a group meditation on a Saturday morning I was delighted when people actually arrived for the first session. I was even more pleased when they all seemed to benefit in meaningful ways from being there.

The group decided to continue to meet monthly, and it turned into a lovely core group of seekers who wanted to know more about how energy moves in the body and about their own experiences during these explorations. They even purchased the Chakra Tai Chi video so they could still meet one time when I had to be out of town! Several of them practiced daily at home, and had wonderful insights to share at our gatherings. We all learned so much from being together this way.

So----how did this effect my brand new bodywork practice? A number of these individuals became clients, but more importantly, as their experience broadened they talked with others in the community. Soon I was getting calls from a "friend of a friend" who wanted an appointment, and my practice began to gather momentum.

This may seem like an indirect path toward building a practice because I never charged a fee for these classes, and they weren't really even about acupressure at all. Still, after all these years I believe it was the single most effective marketing effort I have ever made.

I will always be grateful to that lovely group of people who encouraged me find my ground and made me want to speak clearly about this work I love so much. I thought I was setting out to build a practice, but began building a community instead. Everything else has unfolded from there.

Did you sign up for a workshop with Soul Lightening this year, only to have it cancelled?  Although this doesn't happen often, we know that having to cancel a workshop is incredibly disappointing for everyone involved. So---we are diligently working to reduce the number of classes that are cancelled in the future.

The decision about canceling a workshop is based on many factors, but the primary factor is how many students are registered. Our policy has been to make final decisions about class cancellation 5 weeks prior to the class, however, we are noticing that many students end up registering less than five weeks before the workshop. 

We realize that for many people it might not be feasible to sign up earlier and pay the full fee all at once.  Therefore, we propose a new way to hold your place in class!!! 

We continue to strongly encourage everyone to register for a workshop as early as possible and take advantage of the early bird discount.  However, if you know you would like to take a class but are not able to pay in full at that time, we are offering to hold your place in a class with a small non-refundable deposit, and the option of a flexible payment plan. 

Here's how it works

Let's say Mary is planning to take a SEVA class in January but is unable to pay the full $100 until December.  Now, she can make a deposit to hold her place in class.  For a one day class, the deposit would be $25.  A two-day class would require a $50 deposit, three days $75, four days $100, etc. ($25 per class day).  That way Soul Lightening knows of her intention to take the class and will have a better idea of how many students will be attending.

The remainder of the fee is due one week prior to the beginning of the workshop and will automatically be charged to the credit card on file at that time. This is a change from our current policy.  Our current policy states that the full fee must be paid by the first day of class.

Registering online?  No problem! 

There will now be an option labeled "Deposit" with the appropriate amount listed for that class.  All you have to do is log in and sign up!  There will also be another option labeled "Payment".  When it is time to make another payment, you can fill in the exact amount that you want pay at that time.

These changes will be in place beginning November 1, 2010.
