Frank Delaney is a native of Tipperary, Ireland. He worked for the BBC in Belfast during the 1970s, reporting on the intense period of conflict known as the Irish Troubles. After covering 5 years of kidnapping and sieges, Delaney moved to London where he worked for the award-winning BBC Radio Four program "Bookshelf". In the 1980s he wrote films for Omnibus and hosted his own talk show "Frank Delaney" featuring cultural and literary personalities. He is the creator of "Word of Mouth", BBC's highly rated show about language, and "The Celts", a six part television series.
Frank Delaney is also the author of seven books of non-fiction including Simple Courage and twelve novels including the New York Times bestseller Ireland, A Novel. His latest novel, Shannon, tells the tale of a young American Marine chaplain recovering from the horrors of the Battle of Belleau in Germany, who embarks on a trip to discover his family roots in Ireland. Beautifully written, meticulously researched and expertly paced, Shannon combines a timeless account of faith and commitment with the quirks of Irish myth and the menace of Irish history in a satisfying work of historical fiction. |

Katherine Center, author of Everyone is Beautiful, is a graduate of Vassar College where she won the Vassar College Fiction Prize, and The University of Houston where she received an MA in fiction.
