Fuquay-Varina Downtown has a new look The FVRA has a new look - Fuquay-Varina Downtown! In 2007, our organization went through a community visioning process and you told us that you wanted downtown to be accessible, family-friendly, and full of interesting experiences including dining opportunities and retails shops. We are working to achieve that goal and we think we are making progress!
Our new logo captures this vision of a happy and unique combination of two downtowns that people look forward to visiting. You'll also notice that Fuquay-Varina is captured much like a signature on the logo. This is intentional. It pays homage to our town namesakes and their vital role in our past.

Downtown Cruise-In Series
Downtown Cruise-In Series Begins Fri., April 16
Whether you drive a classic car or just like to
look at them, you'll love the Cruise-In Series, now in its third year, starting
in Downtown Fuquay-Varina on Friday, April 16. This free event will take
place from 5-9 pm
the third Friday of each month from April through June in historic downtown
Fuquay-Varina. Cars will be located in the large public parking lot
located at the corner of Main
and Vance Streets across from Cooley's Restaurant and in the private lot behind
the restaurant. To Map Quest, enter 305

Music will be provided by the Mayor of Mamers. The Bass Lake Area Shag Society will give a shag demonstration & lessons at 6:00pm. For those interested, a guided tour of the Fuquay-Varina History Museum starts at the information booth at 5:30 & 7:00pm. A free toy is available for all children under the age of 12. At 7:00pm there will be a hula-hoop contest for children and one for adults and trophies will be awarded.
The Cruise-In offers families a great opportunity to get out for a night of inexpensive, family-filled fun close to home. "We are so pleased to bring this kind of entertainment to downtown", said Kathy Barnes, Chairperson of the Fuquay-Varina Revitalization Association. There will be so much activity going on the night of the April Cruise-In. From classic cars to shag lessons and tours of the history museum to fun contests. There really will be something for everyone.
Pre-1975 cars are welcome and there is no fee to display a car. While at the event, cruisers can register for a variety of door prizes supplied by the stores in downtown Fuquay-Varina. There will be a 50/50 drawing at 8:30pm. Anyone can purchase a ticket for $5 at the information booth located in the large parking lot across from Cooley's. Proceeds will benefit the Fuquay Cruisers and Downtown Revitilization. A flyer with information about the Cruise-In event can be downloaded at www.Fuquay-VarinaDowntown.com.
