Candy Hop in Downtown Fuquay-Varina on
Saturday, March 27 from 11 am - 2 pm Once again, the merchants in downtown Fuquay-Varina are creating free, family fun in downtown Fuquay-Varina. On
Saturday, March 27 from 11 am to 2 pm, the merchants on and around
historic Main and Broad Streets will host a Candy Hop to celebrate
Easter. "The Candy Hop will work much like the
traditional Trick or Treat event in downtown that has been so popular
for the past few years," said Kathy Barnes, Fuquay-Varina Downtown
Chairman. Children should bring a basket and visit merchants displaying the poster that says, "Hop in for Candy!" Make
sure to hop, hop, hop, from shop to shop. You're sure to find candy and
goodies and a whole lot more, but be sure to use the words "I Love
Fuquay-Varina" at each store! The Easter Bunny is likely to make an appearance so make sure to bring your camera. For more information, go to www.Fuquay-VarinaDowntown.com.

The Luck of The Irish is at Stick Boy
The
Shamrock Shake is back! The Shamrock Shake is a seasonal dessert sold
at Stick Boy during the month of March to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
This mint-flavored green treat is made with vanilla ice cream and creme
de menthe syrup, then topped with our homemade whipped cream and green
sprinkles. Amazing!
Other Irish item's being offered for this week only is our famous Irish Soda bread. Our Irish Soda Bread is a traditional soda bread made with wheat flour, buttermilk, baking soda, and salt. We make it in two great flavors: Raisin Caraway and Speckled (made with chocolate).
Lucky Cookies are also available: Our famous sugar cookie, rolled in to the shape of a clover, baked to perfection, and sprinkled with green sugar. Amazing! $1.50 each or $15.00/dozen. Lucky Cookies will be available all week.

INFORMATIONAL SESSION ON PHASE 2 STREET SCAPE IMPROVEMENTS
Sponsored by Fuquay-Varina Revitalization Association & Town of Fuquay-Varina The Streetscape construction project, expected to last about 9 months, will make improvements along
North Main Street from Academy to Ennis Street, a portion of Broad
Street in Varina and the side streets of East and West Vance, Raleigh,
Depot, First and East and West Academy in downtown Fuquay. As part of
the bond projects approved by the citizens of the Town of
Fuquay-Varina, the Board of Commissioners elected to move forward with
the construction of the Streetscape project which began in January. CURRENT SCHEDULE OF WORK ACTIVITIES
On-going: Main Street - Jones Street to Ennis Street (both sides) April 12 - May 14th: Broad Street May 17th - May 28th: Raleigh Street & Depot Street May 24th - June 4th: First Street June 7th - July 1st: Vance Street July 12th - August 6th: Academy Street August 9th - End Of Project: Main Street - Academy to Jones Street (both sides)
