Please Join Us for an INFORMATIONAL SESSION ON PHASE 2 STREET SCAPE IMPROVEMENTS Wednesday, March 3 at 6:00 pm Fuquay-Varina Town Hall 401 Old Honeycutt Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC Sponsored by Fuquay-Varina Revitalization Association & Town of Fuquay-Varina The Streetscape construction project, expected to last about 9 months, will make improvements along
North Main Street from Academy to Ennis Street, a portion of Broad
Street in Varina and the side streets of East and West Vance, Raleigh,
Depot, First and East and West Academy in downtown Fuquay. As part of
the bond projects approved by the citizens of the Town of
Fuquay-Varina, the Board of Commissioners elected to move forward with
the construction of the Streetscape project which began in January. All downtown businesses and property owners are invited to attend. Businesses and property owners affected by Phase 2 should definitely plan to attend this meeting. During
this meeting, town officials will have maps available to show the scope
of the project, the pattern of the streetscape along different portions
of the roadway and will also discuss the time line for completing this
project. Individuals from the Town, the contractor and the project
manager will be available to answer any specific questions that you may
have. If
you are unable to attend this meeting and have specific questions, you
can call Arthur Mouberry at 552-1402 or Susan Weis at 552-0848.

Resident Care Director for the Carillon Assisted Living facility to be
opened soon in Fuquay-Varina. She will be providing free blood
pressure checks and will have information about the new facility being
built on Johnson Pond Road in Fuquay-Varina. Carillon Assisted Living
has about 12 other facilities around North Carolina, and their facility
in Fuquay-Varina will also have The Garden Place, which offers
Alzheimer's care. Jennifer will be able to introduce you to this new
facility and answer any questions you may have.
The
blood pressure checks she offers will be at no charge and is a great
way to see if the results are consistent with what your home blood
pressure monitor gives. As always, our pharmacists and staff will be
available to help with any questions or concerns you have, or to help
you choose a blood pressure monitor appropriate for you to use at home.
Lunch
will be served. The Soda Fountain will be open. It will be a great

Fashions By: My Back Porch
The Fuquay-Varina Woman's Club will be hosting a Spring Fashion Show on Saturday, March 6th from 1 to 3pm at Windsor Point in Fuquay-Varina. Fashions
for teens through seniors will be presented by "My Back Porch" located
at 515 Broad Street. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from local
merchants or at the door. Appetizers
and punch will be served by the Woman's Club. Stage decorations will be
supplied by "The Garden Hut" located at 1004 Old Honeycutt Road in
Fuquay-Varina. Raffle tickets for gift baskets may be purchased at the Fashion Show. All proceeds will be donated to local charities. For more information, please call Bev McDougall at 744-4274.

At our next meeting, the Fuquay-Varina Coin Club will be having a Show & Tell session.......
so bring some interesting stuff! In April we will be having a presentation on the U.S. Indian Head Cent. It should be great. Bring a few of your nice or unusual Indians to show and discuss if you like. Remember your dues for this year need to be paid now. All are welcome to attend this meeting. We will have a door prize drawing. Be prepared to hunt for a parking spot......
All remember to attend the Coin Show on March 13th & 14th in the Holshouser Building at the State Fairgrounds.

The 7th annual Celebration of the Arts will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 in Historic Downtown Fuquay-Varina and attracts more than 10,000 visitors during the one-day event. The festival is open to all artists and fine crafts people producing original work.
