David Anthony Gifts Thanks Loyal Customers and Asks Them to Support Local Businesses in 2010
542 North Main Street
|
Christmas of 2009 has passed, New Years Day 2010 has passed and soon I will be on my way to market to replenish the inventory at David Anthony's which has been reduced by my loyal customers. More than I can say, I appreciate your support to my store this past year. As we all know, 2009 was difficult for all concerned; however, due to the faithfulness of my customers, I anticipate a better 2010. I am excited about going to market and the home decor -- as well as gift items -- that I will find there.
Please take time to read the 3/50 Project stated below. As most of our merchants are "Brick and Mortars", I believe you will find this interesting.
3: Pick three businesses you'd hate to see disappear, then return to them. Pick up a little something that makes you smile. That's what keeps those places around.
50: Commit $50 of your current monthly spending to locally owned businesses. If half the employed US population did that, it would generate more than $42.6 billion annually.
68: For every $100 spent in locally owned, independent businesses, more than $68 returns to the community. If spent in a big box or chain, the number drops to $43; spend it online and nothing comes home.

Wishing each of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Our Baker's Choice Breads Josh, our baker, loves experimenting with bread recipes and creating new bread flavors. He draws inspiration from artisan bread books, bread baking websites, and you. This week, Josh is baking French Bread Bowls and Sourdough Bread Bowls. I can't wait! Monday- French Bread Bowls Our French Bread Bowls are a wonderful addition to your soup or chili dinner. Simply cut off the top, hollow it out, and fill it with your favorite Fall soup. Upcoming Events
Six For Sixty All Month Long 1/8/10 Friday Tasting 5:30-9:00 PM Art After Dark, and The Talented Rick Bullock Join us for a tasting of some great wines, Art after Dark and the Rock and Blues Sounds of Rick Bullock. We will have wines by the glass and Draft Micro Brews available! Don't forget to pack a snack if you like or call ahead and we can order something from our pals at Nils Bakery! 1/9/10 Saturday Tasting Our main man Justin is back in the house to do some tasting from his stellar portfolio. Join us from 1-5PM to taste some great stuff! 1/15/10 Friday Tasting with Sigrid and John Savary is back playing his awesome tunes!
Attention bargain-seekers One of Cellar 101's wine wholesalers recently had an inventory clearance of some really nice wines in order to raise some cash. Needless to say, we were able to purchase a limited supply of top- quality wines at extraordinarily discounted prices. We'd like to move this additional Holiday inventory as quickly as possible, so as is always the case when Cellar 101 gets a great deal, we're passing the savings along to our valued customers. Most wines are being sold for between 25%-50% off the original suggested retail prices! I would encourage you to come on down before the end of the week, because once these wines are gone, they're gone for good. Even if the brands found are picked back up by Cellar 101 , they will only be available at their original, much higher prices. I fully expect that these wines, at these prices, will not last until the end of the month!
