| Schedule Your Flu Shot at Elliotts Pharmacy
Information to Help You Manage This Flu Season |
There is considerable talk this year about the seasonal flu and the relatively new swine or H1N1 flu. The seasonal flu is the yearly flu that occurs in the fall and winter with a peak usually in January. The swine or H1N1 flu is a new form that began last spring and is expected to affect large numbers of people this fall and winter. In fact, in Wake County, the seasonal flu has not yet arrived, but the H1N1 has, which means that diagnosed cases of the flu in Wake County are most likely the H1N1 kind. To protect against these two separate types of flu, two different vaccinations will be needed. So this year, a lot of folks will need two flu shots. The traditional seasonal flu shot is being given, and the new swine/H1N1 flu shot will be available sometime in October. To have protection against both types of flu, you will need both flu shot vaccinations.
Maxim Health Systems will be at ELLIOTTS PHARMACY to administer the SEASONAL FLU SHOT vaccination on Thursday, October 1, from 10 am until 2 pm downtown at 202 South Main Street. Sign-up is now available by calling 919-552-2277. Space will also be available for walk-ins. The flu shot will be available for $30, except that there will be NO COPAY for those with Medicare Part B, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NC, Aetna, Partners, Humana Gold, SummaCare, and Advantra Freedom. PNEUMONIA vaccinations will also be available for $45, except there will be NO COPAY for those with Medicare Part B. Go ahead and take this opportunity to schedule your SEASONAL FLU SHOT so that you have that taken care of as the H1N1 vaccinations become available later in the fall. Visit or call us at 919-552-2277 with questions, for more information, or to schedule your appointment. Elliotts Pharmacy is located in historic downtown Fuquay at 202 South Main Street. |
