| PLAN TO ATTEND 1ST CRUISE-IN - FRIDAY, MAY 15 AT 5-9 PM |
| Whether you drive a classic car or just like them, you'll love the Cruise-In Series in Downtown Fuquay-Varina this summer. Last year, more than 200 cars and 2500 people came downtown to experience classic cars, rockin' music and great American food in Fuquay-Varina's charming downtown setting.
This free event take place from 5-9 pm the third Friday of each month from May through July in downtown historic Fuquay-Varina. The first Cruise-In is Friday, May 15th. Cars will be located in the large public parking lot located at the corner of Main and Vance Streets across from Cooley's Restaurant and in the private lot behind the restaurant. Look for cars on the paved parking lot at W. Vance Street and Spring Avenue and on Raleigh Street which will be closed to motor traffic at 4:00 pm. For a map, go to www.Fuquay-VarinaDowntown.com.
The Mayor of Mamers will rock downtown with great music and all-American food will be available onsite from Melvin's Hamburgers and Elliotts Pharmacy lunch counter for a small fee. However, there are many restaurants to choose from all over downtown Fuquay-Varina, so feel free to explore.
The Cruise-In offers families a great opportunity to get out for a night of inexpensive, family-filled fun close to home. This year, Fuquay-Varina is celebrating our Centennial and these cars represent a great deal of history, so they fit right in with our celebration. Make sure to see them!
Pre-1975 cars are welcome and there is no fee to display a car. While at the event, cruisers can register for a variety of door prizes supplied by the stores in downtown Fuquay-Varina. There will be a 50/50 drawing at 8:30 pm. Anyone can purchase a ticket for $5.00 at the Information Booth located in the Large Parking Lot Across From Cooley's. Proceeds will benefits the Fuquay Cruisers and Downtown Revitalization. A flyer with information about the Cruise-In event can be downloaded at www.Fuquay-VarinaDowntown.com.

Strawberry Saturday's at the Chocolate Bean |
"Strawberry Saturdays" are coming! Starting in May we will have fresh-dipped chocolate covered strawberries available all day (or at least while they last). We've had lots of requests for berries throughout the year so be sure to stop by early. Taste the best of locally grown and hand-made berries. Available individually.

We had a great turnout at our April meeting. We had two guest speakers from the North Carolina Numismatic Association. There appearance was very much appreciated. We will continue to meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. We welcome anyone interested or think they may be in collecting coins, currency or tokens. There are no age limits. It is open to all. This is not only Fuquay- Varina's 100th anniversary but also the 100th year of the Lincoln Cent as well. As a club we are going try to man a booth at the Celebrate Fuquay Event on Saturday June 6th if possible. We may also be holding several raffles in the near future to raise money for the club. More information will follow so check out the web site often.

St. Bernadette's Church will hold an International SpringFest on Friday, May 22 from 5 pm to 11 pm and on Saturday May 23, from 11 am to 11 pm.
This is a perfect opportunity to bring family and friends together for fun, food and games. We will be having food, beer, bingo, bake sale, silent auction, 50/50 draw, Big Money Wheel, music and dancing and much, much more. We will have plenty of children's games and prizes. For your entertainment there will be continuous music, dancing and performers. Games for the adults will be Bingo, Big Money Wheel and 50/50's, which will be drawn every 2 hours, along with a Super 50/50 to be drawn on Saturday night.
