The sun will shine down heavily, relentlessly, thoroughly and completely this summer, so use sunscreen. Grace will shine down heavily, relentlessly, thoroughly and completely this summer as well, but there's no such thing as gracescreen, even if you wanted it. Sure, some people make a hobby of determining who gets grace and who won't, but like sunshine, the undeserved love of God falls on all of us. Really, the only question is whether we recognize it, not whether it is there. A college professor of mine often ended his lectures early by announcing, "That's enough for today. Let's go frolic in the sunshine." May you frolic both in the sunshine and in the grace that is all around you this summer and know in every breath that God is good indeed. |
Grilling, Tubing, and Worship
Christ Chapel keeps on all summer long. Remember that EVERY SUNDAY, 7:00 p.m. is worship with Eucharist. But SUNDAY, JUNE 3rd will include tubing from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., followed by a cook-out supper at 6:15 at Christ Chapel. We will provide meat for the grill; you bring any side dish to share. Meet at Christ Chapel for tubing; bring $7.00 for a tube and ride, plus $20 for a deposit on what must be a very nice tube. Both the tube and deposit can be put on a credit or debit card. After tubing, we'll clean up and reconvene at Christ Chapel for grilling. Some alums will be with us, including the legendary Allie Rogers and possibly Austin Prowse.

Clean Deep, Eat Well.
Starting Tuesday, May 29th through June 19th, every Tuesday is Deep Cleaning Day. The truth is that our facility is in need of some serious cleaning, so we'll gather at 10:00 and work on one area at a time until all the rooms we use are in great shape again. Here's the best part; lunch is included. Show up and we'll break for lunch and go to wherever the group decides.

God Goes to the BBC: June 16th, 6:00 p.m., Lounge
It's a reinterpretation of Sherlock Holmes, and it is great. We'll have a Season Two marathon on Saturday, June 16th in the Lounge, watching the entire season (all three episodes) in one night. As always, bring a friend. Popcorn will be provided.

REVIEWS
America's Got Talent: To be more accurate, America's dogs have talent. Some people have a bit. Howard Stern has none, but he turns out to be a nicer guy than what I expected he would be.
Ryan Jensen: The new UCM-Wesley campus minister is a great guy with a great heart and a vision for ministry. With his arrival on July 1st, I think we'll begin many happy years of cooperation between Christ Chapel and our partners in ministry in this building. Best of all, Ryan is just about as weirdly neurotic as I am with regard to things being tidy. There's some expression about great minds thinking alike that you can add here.

Our campus mission is to be a welcoming spiritual community, a place for people of any gender, race, national origin, and sexual orientation. Growing together in faith, we seek the unity that Christ envisions for His church through learning, liturgical worship, service, and fellowship. |
