Summertime Plans...
What you do with your time is your own business, but it's also a measure of your values. Time is money, after all, and the way we use our money is one of the surest signs of our values. Which is why Christians are encouraged to tithe; that is, to give away a tenth of their income to charity as a way to say, "I value God first and money second, and will demonstrate that by giving away the first tenth." Many of you will have a lot more time on your hands than during the semester; others will busier than usual working long hours at a job. Whatever your circumstance, find a way to spend time like it was money; that is, give your time in service to others. That might be four or more hours a week that will not only change your life, but those you serve. And a changed life; that's something to talk about next Fall.

God Goes to the Movies: April 26th, 8:00 p.m., Lounge
"Intrepid reporter Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure hunt for a sunken ship commanded by Haddock's ancestor," says the summary on IMDB. Tintin is enormously popular in Europe, particularly in Belgium, where the character originates. Belgium produces exceptional waffles, which suggests that this should be an exceptional movie. Where, if, and how God might make an appearance in this movie is a questions, but perhaps will be most clearly heard in the conversation that follows. Popcorn provided. Bring a friend.

| THANKS FOR THE MEALS!
We'll be saying "Thanks" to the many people who brought us meals over the past year by inviting them to dinner with us on Sunday, May 6th. Students will cook and serve dinner and clean up afterwards. If you can help cook, please plan on arriving as close to 3:30 as possible. If you can help clean up, well, show up when it's time to clean up. But let's all thank these fine folks who have blessed us by blessing them with a good meal.

REVIEWS
Titanic in 3-D: All the terrible dialogue of the original, but with a headache as a parting gift! Actually, it is a well-done re-do that doesn't feel as if it was forced into a 3-D mold. It should be for $18 million. Recommended, especially if you are one of those who thought it just a movie and not based on an historical event. Yes, some people didn't realize there was a real Titanic. Some people should not be allowed to drive. Speaking of which...
Drive-Thru Windows: They are often convenient, but if there is a line, park your dang car and go inside. Idling more than 10 seconds uses more fuel than if you stop the engine and start it again, and far more fuel if you are putting in line for 10 minutes at a drive-thru window line. That's the facts.

Our campus mission is to be a welcoming spiritual community, a place for people of any gender, race, national origin, and sexual orientation. Growing together in faith, we seek the unity that Christ envisions for His church through learning, liturgical worship, service, and fellowship. |
