A Call for Images! ILCP Photographers Will Work with 350.org to Help Fight Climate Change
|
Adventure photographer Chris Noble and
writer/activist Bill McKibben's 350.org invite photographers across
the globe to band together and apply their talents to help fight global
warming. "350" is the amount, measured in parts per million which
scientists agree is the maximum level of carbon dioxide the earth's
atmosphere can sustain without catastrophic results. 350.org was
created with the express purpose of educating the world's citizens
about the mounting dangers of climate change. As part of that outreach,
the organization is asking for a submission of one photograph from 350
photographers that best illustrate this complex issue. The photographs
will be posted on the 350.org website in a special gallery including a
short caption by the photographer explaining the image and its
connection to climate change, accompanied by the photographer's name
and contact information. By participating, photographers will not only
be helping address what is arguably the most pressing issue of our age,
they will be helping promote their own work. If the project is
successful there is the possibility of creating a print exhibit based
on the collection which can be presented on Capitol Hill, at the U.N.
and other major venues to help raise public and political
awareness. The ILCP will be participating and contributing with 350.org on this project. For more information please contact Chris Noble: chris@noblefoto.com
/ Phone: 801.582.2623 or the ILCP.

time in its more than 30 years of work around the world, the World
Wilderness Congress (WWC) will convene in Latin America, in the
welcoming "White City" of Merida in Mexico's Yucatan -the land of the Maya.
