Dear ILCP Community:
The past month has been a whirlwind of work as we prepare for the IUCN
Congress in Barcelona. Every single one of our photographers stepped up to
the plate and donated beautiful images for various aspects of the Congress.
After all is said and done, the conservation community that gathers in
Barcelona to discuss the future of our planet's natural resources will be
sure to remember the amazing display of photography we have provided.
We have also helped bring to life the results of the IUCN's Global Mammal
Assessment, a collaboration of thousands of scientists who evaluated the
threatened status of all the world's mammals. The results, published in the
Journal of Science will be made available to the media and the images of
ILCP photographers will help capture the world's attention on this important
subject.
I could not be happier by this effort and I want to thank every single one
of you (and your assistants and agents) who helped us put together a
spectacular show.
In particular we want to recognize the following people who submitted images, whether featured or not: Alison Jones, Amy Gulick, Art Wolfe, Beverly Joubert, Boyd Norton, Brian Skerry, Carlton Ward Jr., Chris Linder, Christian Ziegler, Connie Bransilver Barrow, Daniel Beltra, David Doubilet, Francisco Marquez, Flip Nicklin, Florian Moellers, Florian Schulz, Garth Lenz, Ian Shive, Inaki Relanzon, Jack Dykinga, Jenny E. Ross, Jim Balog, Joel Sartore, Karen Huntt, Klaus Nigge, Luciano Candisani, Balan Madhavan, Michael Aw, Michele Westmorland, Pete Oxford, Piotr Naskrecki, Robin Moore, Wendy Shattil, Bob Rozinski, Staffan Widstrand, Stefano Unterthiner, Steve Winter, Cristina Mittermeier, Thomas Mangelsen, Tim Laman, and Tui de Roy.

ILCP to Publish Book on its Photographers and Projects
|
We are excited to share with you that we will be publishing a book on the ILCP and its photographers in the near future. This book will be a donation from Fulcrum Publishing, whose owners sit on the Board of the WILD Foundation. This speaks volumes about how supportive WILD and their board is of our work. This will be a small book and will devote several pages to explaining what ILCP is all about, detail our history, our current initiatives, our vision for how photography and conservation can work together. The book will devote a two-page spread for all Fellows, Associates, and Emerging League members, and will include some personal perspectives on each person's conservation interests, etc. It is not compulsory to participate, but thank you to those who have responded so far. If you have yet to send your submissions, please contact Rachel Elmendorf at rachel@ilcp.com at your earliest convenience. As we continue to work with Fulcrum on defining the layout, we will be in touch with participants. Thank you to the Fulcrum / WILD Family!
