 This is not your typical "learn to drive" program. Our professional instructors at Spring Mountain will teach your teen how to deal with real world situations - how to control a car when things go wrong. Chevrolet News & Corvette Happenings
 We are pleased to announce that a date has been set for the next Corvette Track Days! Mark your calendars and join us at Spring Mountain with fellow Corvette lovers on October 24-25, 2009. A Corvette Track Day weekend gives anyone from a novice driver to an experienced road racer a chance to try out their own Vette's power and handling in an unrestricted manner on one of the top driving school tracks in the Southwestern United States. Details about this event will follow in future newsletters and will be available on the website soon.  Our sales staff from the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School were in attendance at the Western States Corvette Council's Viva Las Vegas Convention May 7-11, 2009. This was the Corvette event of the year for the WSCC and featured an action-packed weekend for Corvette enthusiasts from all over the Western States. Hot Nevada Vettes was the proud Host of the 2009 WSCC Corvette Convention. The Corvette events featured an all-Corvette track day at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and an all-Corvette car show under the canopy at the world famous Fremont Street Experience. Participants enjoyed Corvette drag racing, poker rallyes, Corvette autocross and socializing with fellow Corvette owners.
 Ron Fellows does more than lend his name to Spring Mountain's performance driving programs. Ron has been very active in the ZR1 and Level 1 Corvette Driving Schools. In fact, Ron has redesigned some of the course curriculum based on his successful racing philosophy. If you have taken a course at Spring Mountain before, you would benefit by a return visit to practice your skills in addition to learning a few more advanced exercises. Ken Melgoza is an expert driver and experienced racer who has run the Spring Mountain road course in his Radical SR3 for the past five years with several podium finishes to his credit. SM Instructor Justin "JJ" Johnson Weds
Race champion and Spring Mountain driving instructor Justin "JJ" Johnson has just added one  more "win" to his impressive list of accomplishments as he married his long-time girlfriend Jenna-Marie Parker in Las Vegas on April 25, 2009. Justin was featured in our December 2008 newsletter for his long winning streak, which marked the end of a very good year for the young driver. Having been in the racing field for the past nine years, Justin Johnson has driven almost every type of race car on the track, from open-wheeled to NASCAR-style cars. Justin has achieved numerous championships and victories from Bandolero Cars to Super Late Models over the years. In 2008 Justin won over 30 races, including the national championship, and the state and track championship in the Thunder Roadster Asphalt Nationals.
Justin met his future wife at his local race track 10 years ago, and he raced against Jenna's brother throughout his career. For years the couple were friendly, but two years ago they began dating and the rest is history. Justin and Jenna were married in a beautiful church ceremony in Las Vegas, with the reception held at the bride's Godmother's home overlooking the city. Congratulations to Justin and Jenna from all of us at Spring Mountain! |
