Time Flies when you're having Fun!
It's hard to believe that one year has passed since we were cutting the ribbons to the entrance of our beautiful resort-style Clubhouse  last May. We would like to thank our loyal members and friends for your support of the Club. Despite the challenges of the economy our membership continues to grow because of your referrals, and we are planning more amenities for you to enjoy this year. Springtime is a great time to take advantage of the sunny skies, perfect temperatures and ideal conditions on the track here at Club Spring Mountain. Bring a guest or two and have some fun testing your limits on the racetrack. Enjoy the longer days with a refreshing swim and relax by the pool at the Clubhouse. With our complete fitness center, massage therapy, billiards, racquetball court and gun range on the long list of amenities available here, we invite you to relax and enjoy the experience - it's all here for you as a member of the club.
Don't be a stranger! Most weekends are available for our members' use, so be sure to check our calendar and call Ellen Delmore, your Country Club Coordinator, to let her know you're coming out to the track. Totally Radical NEW SR8 SM-500 Has Jaws Dropping
 Don't blink or you'll miss it! CEO John Morris and the Radical support team unveiled a hot new extreme sports car direct from England at the last Club Spring Mountain race weekend April 18-19. The first 3.2 litre Powertec V8-powered Radical ever built was spotted passing other participants in the race with speeds of 160 mph plus on the straights of Spring Mountain's road course. Radical Sportscars in England plans a limited release of these phenomenal vehicles, with Spring Mountain as the exclusive dealer. The Radical SR8 SM-500 also features an upgraded Powertec P-tec six-speed transaxle to cope with the extra horsepower, plus 300mm fully-floating, ventilated brakes on the front and rear to stop such a hugely powerful vehicle.
Radical prospects and other interested parties are welcome to experience a thrill ride with John around the track. Although you should consider yourself warned....most everyone taking a passenger ride in this hot new car reported aching muscles the next day! Roy Sciortino Sets Nonstop Chopper Flight Record
Congratulations are extended to Charter Club Member Roy Sciortino from DeLuz, California. Roy,  along with three other pilots, flew a 4-seater Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter "non-stop" from San Diego's Brown Field to Georgia's Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport, arriving back at San Diego. The pilots blasted the previous SU and National World Record by 10 hours and 19 minutes. Their trip to Savannah and back was accomplished with a total time of 59 hours and 59 minutes.
Roy, who also races Radicals, explained the motivation behind his journey. 'The purpose of our trip was to raise awareness for those much younger and in need of what the many fortunate have, so that someday these children may one day be able to enjoy freedom to live the lifestyles that we share, be it racing, flying a helicopter, flying a fixed wing or just enjoying life in many simple ways. Our priority for this flight was to raise awareness and money for The Christian Foundation for Starving Children by reaching for the media through breaking the world record.'
What's next for Roy? 'Our next objective is to fly around the world to set a new world record in a helicopter. This should take approximately seven days with a larger helicopter and a larger crew.'
Party Time at the Club Radical & Sports Car Race!
Don't miss the next exciting Radical Race in our Club Series on May 16- 17, 2009. Competing in Rookie, SR3 and Unlimited classes, our members always have a blast with their friends and family and enjoy healthy competition on the track. After the race on Saturday, participants and guests let loose in the clubhouse with cocktails, dinner, and sporting competitions. On Saturday night members and their guests are also invited to enjoy a meal catered by our Corporate Member, The Pahrump Nugget.
We will be hosting game night once a month on the Saturday night after the Club races. Featuring poker, shooting, racquetball and pool tournaments, we will be serving hot food and including two drink tickets for $40 per person, with prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Drinks, food and events begin at 4:30 pm.
Due to lack of interest the Sports Car Race series has been discontinued. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions or need more information.
The staff at Club Spring Mountain enjoys hosting our monthly Club events and we hope to see more of you participating this season. Download the latest points standings for Club races here. Please note that we combine Members and Radical Ventures participants when tallying the points for the Club Spring Mountain Standings. All non-CSM members who participated in the race are dropped and members are moved up accordingly in the points standings. Therefore, even if you did not finish on the podium on the February or April weekend races you still received the proper points for the Club Spring Mountain members-only race.
