Happy New Year from Club Spring Mountain
 The management and staff at Club Spring Mountain wishes you and your family a spectacular New Year. Looking back on a memorable 2008, it has been our pleasure to serve you during the previous year, and we look forward to an exciting 2009, filled with new developments, more activities, events and FUN.
If you are making your New Year's resolutions, why not schedule a few more visits to Spring Mountain this year? In 2009 we are planning more social events, more Club races and more amenities for all to enjoy. Our membership continues to grow steadily, and we are enjoying meeting and driving on the track with our new Club members. More development is planned at the facility this year with our eagerly-anticipated 80-room Microtel hotel breaking ground in March, 2009. Garages are continually being built for our members, and we just completed another 40 garages in two new buildings, including a hangar for our Flying Club operations, that we plan to expand this year. The future looks bright for members of Club Spring Mountain, and we thank you sincerely for helping us reach our mutual goals.
Stirling Club Cocktail Party - January 10!

First Club Race Weekend of the Year - January 24-25, 2009
Start out the New Year with some adrenaline pumping competition! Mark your calendars and plan to join us for the first Club Radical and Sports Car Race of the year on January 24-25, 2009, featuring Rookie, SR3 and Unlimited classes. Members with Radicals or Sports Cars are cordially invited to participate! We will have meals available on Saturday and Sunday, so please RSVP to Ellen if you are going to be eating lunch and/or bringing a guest(s) to this event. The price for each lunch is $15.00. The track configuration for this month's Club Race is the 3.1-mile course on Saturday, and the 2.3-mile course on Sunday.
 Congratulations to the winners of the last race of the year: December 13-14, 2008. The winners took home life-size trophies that were displayed at the Club throughout the year!

2009 Radical and Sports Car Club Race Dates announced!
Join in the excitement at our Radical and Sports Car Club Races this year! Dates have just been finalized for the upcoming season. We are also featuring the Radical Ventures Challenge Race Series, as indicated below.
January 24-25 - Club Race (Track configuration: 3.1-mile course on Saturday; 2.3-mile course on Sunday.)
February 28- March 1 - Radical Ventures Challenge Race (Track configuration: 2.2-mile course  on Saturday; 3.1-mile course on Sunday.)
March 14-15 - Club Race
April 18-19 - Radical Ventures Challenge Race
May 16-17 - Club Race
June 27-28 - Radical Ventures Challenge Race
September 4-6 - Radical Ventures Challenge Race
October 3-4 - Club Race
November 7-8 - Club Race
December 12-13 - Radical Ventures Challenge Race
Prices for this year's Club Race Series weekends are as follows:
Radical Race Fees: Saturday: $400 includes entry fee, day use and support. Sunday: $300 includes entry fee, day use and support
Sports Car Race Fees: Saturday: $200 includes entry fee and day use
Sunday: $100 includes entry fee and day use
The above prices also include engraved medallions for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each division for the Saturday race only, transponder use, and all other services except fuel. Points will be calculated after each race, and a running total will be kept for the year! The year-end points leader will receive a GRAND PRIZE (to be determined) and will be named the CSM race series champion.
Prices for the Radical Ventures Challenge Series weekends are as follows:
The price is $500.00 per day, or $1,000 per weekend, which includes  entry fees, day use, mechanical support and delectable gourmet lunches, snacks and after-race beverages by Jolene Shafer. On the Radical Ventures Challenge Series weekends, a special race schedule will be run. View the race schedule here.
Classes and Qualifications for Sports Car Race:
All cars must have a MINIMUM of a 4-point roll cage and 4-point harness to run the race series. Must wear a fire retardant racing suit.
Car Classifications:
Over 3 liters including but not limited to: Vipers, Corvettes, Mustang
Under 3 liters and less than 2600 lbs (without driver) including but not limited to Lotus, Thunder Roadster, Miata, 211
Under 3 liters and more than 2600lbs. (without driver) including but not limited to Porsche, BMW, Honda S2000, Audi TT

Spring Mountain Karting is Back!
We are pleased to announce that our Karting Program is back on the schedule. The following  dates are now available: Feb 14-15; March 21-22; April 25-26; and May 23-24. On these weekends we will be running karts from 1:00 - 4:00 pm on the 1.2-mile karting track. We will be running cars on the 1.5-mile course from 9:00 am -12:00 pm then changing over the track to the 1.2-mile course for karting from 1:00 -4:00 pm. Please be advised that there are no rental karts available.
PRICES: If you will be driving cars in the morning and karts in afternoon: $60 normal day use. If you will be driving only in morning, the day use fees are reduced to $20.00 for Charter members and $40.00 for Classic members. If you are just going to be karting in afternoon, the day use fees are $20.00 for Charter members and $40.00 for Classic members.
KARTING FROM 4:30 - 6:30: We are also offering Karting on the following Saturdays after the Radical and Sports Car Race beginning at 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm. The fees for karting only are $20.00 for Charter Members and $40.00 for Classic Members.

Important Information for Members
 NEW Club Member Mailing List. Many of our members have asked for contact information about their fellow club comrades so they can coordinate their visits to Club Spring Mountain. Therefore, we will be publishing an email list with each member's name and type of car for your convenience. If you have any objection to your name and email address being included in our Member email list, please contact Ellen Delmore by January 20, 2009.
Membership Fees Increase. Effective January 1, 2009, the initiation fees for new Charter members are $40,000, with monthly dues at $150.00 per month. Initiation fees for new Classic members are $15,000, with monthly dues at $200.00 per month.
Call Ellen to RSVP when you're coming to the Club! At Club Spring Mountain, service is  of utmost important to us. To ensure your safety and comfort, our goal is to have the optimum staff necessary to serve your needs while you're at our facility. We are making every effort to keep the costs at a minimum by staffing the club and track according to anticipated attendance. Lunches must be planned for in advance through our caterer. You can help keep costs down for all members by letting us know when you are planning a visit to Club Spring Mountain, at least 48 hours in advance (or as soon as you can if 48 hours is not possible.) Effective immediately we can no longer serve lunch to members who have not given us notice of their attendance at the club.
