JVS Offers Training at No Cost! |
In their report "Turning Skills into Profit: Economic Benefits of Workplace Education Programs," the global business research organization The Conference Board found that companies who improved the basic skills of their workers saw improved productivity, teamwork, and employee relations as well as increased employee output and organization profitability.
The Conference Board's report found that 82% of companies reported increased quality of work, improved capacity to solve problems, and better team performance from their employees who had received training. Sixty-five percent reported increased output of products and services.
JVS will help companies pursue free training by working with them to secure a Literacy Skills Grant through the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

What courses are covered? Computer Skills, English as a Second Language, Communication Skills, Writing Skills, Math Skills, and American Sign Language are some of the courses available through the grants. Who can be trained? Employees working 20 hours or more per week are eligible. Substantial grant awards available. Companies can qualify for up to $1,000 per person trained, with no additional cap on the size of the training grant. |
