Dear Parents,
Thank you to all the parents who give their kids tzedakah each class. We collected $6.50 and another box for donation. That is more than half the class participating! Please note, your child gets one sticker for tzedakah and only one sticker. Don't let them guilt you into a bigger tzedakah thinking they'll get more stickers. They won't! :) We learned the hebrew letter- Dalet with Charles. We learned the hebrew words; Delet- door, Devash- honey, Daber/daberet- speaking --ask your child the difference (Daber is for boys/ Daberet is for girls). Have them draw you one! After Hebrew, we went upstairs to Dance with Dayla. The kids went a little wild by the fourth dance. Somehow the notion of gentle and partners don't seem to mix. It's like they have to spin each other around like they're going to throw a shot put across the room. They tried all the dances though and we take what we can get.
We had a little bit of time to talk about our Teach Me Torah lesson: Adam and Eve. We talked about taking responsibility for our actions and choices. They were able to play a little game (like Chutes and Ladders) with good and bad choices.
Then it was upstairs to meet you for Family Education. It was fun seeing you with your kids. They love sharing that time with you and learning. Though a bit sticky, it seemed like everyone had a good time :).
Our Shabbat basket went home with Jacob and his family. I'm looking forward to hearing about what his family did for Shabbat.
REMINDERS: If your child is taking the Consecration photo, please have him/her dress nicely. They will be able to change if they want.
Hopefully we'll be able to have snack in the Temple Sukkah. Join us for Sukkot Under The Stars on Wednesday night at 6pm. At 5:30pm, I think the Sisterhood is selling dinner for $5 a person or you can bring your own. Check with the Temple if you're interested in buying dinner 619-286-2555.
Family Shabbat is on Friday at 7pm. If you haven't been to family services, the Rabbi does a puppet show which is always entertaining. I'll be there!
