It Takes a Village! They say it takes a village to raise a child. If it takes a village to raise a child, what about a business? For most small business owners, creating a business is like the early years of raising children...expensive outlay of big ticket items, sleepless nights, crying! It's not easy and sometimes you feel really alone. A new business owner, like a new mom, gets lots of advice. The best advice I was given starting out was--If you learned one new thing everyday, you still wouldn't know everything. Rather than trying to do it all myself, I was encouraged to build a team of experts who know what I don't! That way no matter what came up in my business, I could handle anything. I call it my "Team 100," though there are probably a lot more than 100 experts on my list! My team is made up of my accountant, graphic/web designer, coach, social media consultant, and my contact manager of other fantastic virtual assistants who do the things I don't; like blogs, shopping carts, and data entry, just to name a few! I love what I do with Constant Contact, Send Out Cards and Promotional Products! You are the expert of what you do! As you build your team of experts, add yourself to their "villages". Tell others what you do, so they can send referrals to you and help you grow your business. I know that I'm constantly referring others to members of my Team 100. Do you have a village?
