Dear Parents,
Thanksgiving leftovers are still in the fridge as we get out and dust off our Chanukah Menorah. I was lucky enough to celebrate Thanksgiving with my wonderful daughters, Sari and Debra, in New York City. They both live there and have exciting lives, but are definitely too far away from their mother!!!
Tonight, our school will gather together with Rabbi Lawson to light the first candle on the Chanukiah. I am so grateful to be able celebrate this holiday with your children. I love watching their faces as the candles are lit and the prayers are sung.
May you be enveloped by the warmth and light of the candles this Chanukah. Chag Samaech, Cathy

Hanukkah starts tonight! I love lighting the candles, playing dreidel and eating latkes. This year, our class is going to participate with the school for the Chanukah Celebration. So put on your dancing shoes and get ready to play! I can't believe how cute the apple turkeys turned out this year! Here are a few of them! K/1, Lori Bunshaft

Hello Families, The 1st grade had a wonderful month of November. While learning about Noah's Ark and the Tower of Babel, we were also able to make beautiful crafts for the holidays to donate. With Mrs. Lori and the Kindergartners, we made scented pine cone turkey center pieces for the blind, and as our own class, we made Hanukkah cards for the elderly who are without family this time of year. The Kindergarten through second grade students learned many new letters in November, including hey and shin. I am looking forward to finishing the year with great fun and continue planning exciting new Family Education events!
I hope you enjoyed the 2 weeks off with family and loved ones! Warmly, Jessica

For only having two Torah School classes in November, we got a lot done. The class worked on ideas for their own Ten Commandments which will be a continuing project. Rachel Kulis and Robyn Sarvis helped the kids with their Hanukkah gift. Everyone did a fantastic job of making personalized clock faces, making cards, and wrapping their gift.

Israeli dancing this year is going great. As much as I enjoy teaching your Kids they also seem to have fun. They come to class with high energy as they learned new line dances this year. I would like to encourage the parents to join the circle and participate with your child after service on the monthly Friday night. |
