-Sophia Loren My last remaining grandparent died recently. Though I will miss my grandmother, I am not sad about her death. She lived an incredibly full life. During my trip in April, I made sure to share with her how much I loved her and said my good-byes. This feeling is so different to the way I felt when my mother died 9 years ago. She was young and had more life to live. She was the first person close to me die and the regrets I feel from her death shape the way I live my life now. In fact, they shaped the way I interacted with my grandmother so that I could say that good-by without regrets. A working relationship like a personal one sometimes ends--either it isn't working out, someone moves on, retirement or even death. I have learned as much from those endings as I have from my mother and grandmother. Now,
I act on the question: If a relationship--personal or professional-- could be gone tomorrow, have I done
everything that I needed to do--for myself--to have no regrets about the
end of the relationship? I tend to go above and beyond to show how much I
care, but at the end of the day, I know I'll be able to rest easy knowing that I did all I could do!As much as it hurts to lose someone, the lessons you learn make you the person you are. I am so thankful for my clients, colleagues and friends and what I've learned from you along the way. |

I am absolutely giddy about the new offering from Constant Contact. If you liked their Premium Image Hosting for $5, it has gotten even better. Tip: People like to click on pictures and links,so make your images and document go somewhere.
I love this new document hosting feature. Until now, I've had to host documents on my website in order to link them in my emails. I especially had to do this with my youth group announcements and client specials. This new feature has reduced my email creation time by 10-15 minutes per email!

During a Send Out Cards Treat 'Em Right seminar, Kody Bateman, Founder and CEO of Send Out Cards, told the story of how his brother's death led him to start this company. He shared how the last time he saw his brother alive, he had a feeling to go and hug him. Because his family didn't show emotion like that, he ignored the feeling--the prompting-- and never saw his brother alive again.

Many of you know that I am a hugger and show my emotions easily. However, it is really hard to express love or thoughts far away--many of my closest friends are the farthest away from me. So I use cards to share my feelings from a distance. But I also know how special following a prompting can make another person feel, even one in the same house as me. Alex did something awesome--very big-brotherly--he baby-sat for his little sister without being a jerk. He thrived from the experience and it prompted me to send him a card. His smile (and confidence boost) was priceless!

This coming September is AssistU's annual Community Recognition Awards. During this weekend, virtual assistants from all over, come to celebrate our peers. I've been honored with the task of finding the perfect crystal award for the VA of the Year! Especially meaningful since, I've been nominated for it and two other awards.
